What if they wet themselves before i beat them to death with a 200$ text book?
Only counts if the book isn't damaged.
If you travel back in time, do you exist? Do the molecules that you are made of exist? If the answer is yes, then that means you are breaking the law of energy conservation does it not? After all the total energy of a system has to remain constant unless another system is interacting with it. And according to that law you therefore force, either the exclusion of the possibillity of timetravel, or you force the differentiation between the universe in two different times to become two different systems. But this in turn makes it necessary to accept not only multiple universes, but infinite universes, as every given moment in time you can split a universe off from our own.
Aaah, but you see, herin lies the problem.
There is no set future. At its simplest I guess you can look at it this way: If time is a line we travel along and there are things that exist on that line, and there are events that happen on that line. Then that's fine. But the moment you travel back, the future does not exist. Just by being present, you displace particles that would in your future be elsewhere. That presence in itself is proof that the future you come from is not the same future as the one that lies ahead of you. In the moment, there is no timemachine, there is no future you, there is only the present and your existence in it. If you shoot your father, preventing you from being born, all you do is change the present. Because as I said, the future does not exist. The future you doesn't go back in time, the present you however has already done so. After all, time is just our observation of the processes that happen in space. The past exists only as an illusion, what we observe is the information that lives on in the particles that have interacted.
So I say again, if you have a piece of matter, and you send it back in time, then you have two. Does that not violate our current laws of the universe?
Please correct me if this makes no sence, I'm up way past my bedtime...

Well, you can't spell sense, but apart from that..
What I'm trying to point out is that this logic only works from our frame of reference.. I.E, one limited by time. From a non-temporal point of reference, everything happens simultaneously. Therefore, sending something "back" in time, is more like sending it "across". Just like throwing a ball.. the ball stops existing at Point A (The point from which you time travel), and starts existing at Point B (The point you travel to). The ball which is already existing in B (Your "past self") is NOT the same ball, because it has never existed at A!
I.E, everything is contained with one system. Of course, if you break it down into individual systems, things appear to vanish from one.. but only because they've transferred to another.
