Never understood this mechanic.
Not only am I disgusted by any form of abuse on women. But as a gamer the last thing that comes to my mind after losing in a video game is "now let's see how much those enemies can hurt my character, because I suck at this".
Think about the alternative. She goes and fucks other people. Ok now your characters is a slut and that changes the tone of your game completely. You're now limited in what you can do storywise and even gameplay wise.Never understood this mechanic.

Its counter-intuitive from a gameplay perspective, but most people prefer the fantasy. Hentai games are enjoyable because they immerse you into a scenario and contextualize the porn, and a lot of people seem to enjoy the bad-end fantasy.
I personally don't mind GoR as it is, but I'd also prefer a compromise, I think games that weave the porn into the combat are the best at that. Though I do like the finality of the Game Over, I wouldn't mind if the focus shifted more onto in-battle interactions.
I just made a thread on a game that in theory handles the entire concept really well. Instead of GoR, when one of your two girls reaches 0hp in a battle, she's captured by the enemy, and the longer you take to rescue her the more her max MP is drained, with a countdown to each scene which triggers that reduction. Unfortunately, it's really hard to lose unless you're trying to, and it seems to be quite sparse on content (Going by the circle's other games which they pump out by the numbers - in fact, looking at some of them they use the same system). There was another roguelike game that did the same, but I can't remember the name of it for the life of me.
That's a very deep and interesting topic about game design.
Especially in some act games, If you wanna see the Hscene,
you have to lose, which is obviously opposite of the gaming procedure.
That's because the enemies comes always as simply the things to
damage the character controlled by the player. They do nothing good
to the heroine.
Do you remember there is one action game named, "Bitch Bxorcist Rio"
It has 2 ways to show the Hscene,
(1) damaged by enemy
(2) do H things with the enemy you killed to gain HP.
You can just go pass the enemy
you killed without doing nothing as well. So that is a creative design in someway. I think the situation you mentioned can be solved by such kind
of game design, and more better design will come in the future.
From a RPG game developer ........By the way My game on Dlsite.

My thread has dropped to page 6 or maybe 8 , not many people see it .you could visit my thread if it is convenient to you。
Could be. But it won't make me enjoy the GoR itself.seeing what happens does help motivate you to try again... i mean... banjo kazooie had that down.
There are ways to wave a sex scene into the story without making the character a slut. Though I see your point - for a certain type of games and plots, this could be a way to introduce h-content. It's just not my type of content, I guess.Think about the alternative. She goes and fucks other people. Ok now your characters is a slut and that changes the tone of your game completely. You're now limited in what you can do storywise and even gameplay wise.
Also meh on the abuse of women. They're fictional characters. I don't get all up in a tiffy when I beat on a female character in a fighting game.
Plus I mostly play games with male protagonists anyway since assertive girls are my thing.
What you're describing in your Win case is not a GoR, because there is no Game Over in it, it's just a scripted rape scene. So for me the best compromise devs could do, is to reward both situations. Heck! Some games already do stuff like this.
Lose, and you get GoR and sent back to the title screen or checkpoint and suffer some penalties.
Win, and you get the GoR scene unlocked in the gallery or something similar, and you get to continue the game.
Game over rape works best in games that are hard, short, and rely on player skill.
So platformers, where there's a good chance that you will fuck up.
Rpgs rely too much on rng and are too long
