Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

The commando turns away from Ixack, almost completely ignoring him to return to her station. Ever the professional, only the pulse in her blue corona reveals something wrong, and she shares what she sees with Siphon in real time. This might cause some problems, as it could temporarily deprive him of vision, but this was important.

"Positive, Thor. You need to leave, and now. Get yourself out of there, head back towards the fleet. I'm running ID on that symbol."

True to her word, the Asari ran a scanned image into the ship's computers, as well as transmitting a copy back to her own databanks for comparison there.

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

"Very well, that works," Talok replied.

"Agreed, I am.... wait, they're leaving."

Sure enough, all of the ships suddenly jumped to hyper-space and vanished, not a single one remaining behind.

Thor scanned quickly, tracking their tunnels and projecting paths. His eyes widened in surprise, and when he spoke again to Daina, there was some alarm in his voice. "Several of those new ships are on their way directly towards you. Half of the rest are moving toward P2C-257, which is the main base of operations for all Tokra and Gou'ald ship yards. At this time it is at a low level of security, due to the lack of ships they have. The rest of them are heading for P3X-474. That is a planet very similar to Earth, and they are completely unaware of what is going on. They will fall easily to an attack."

Daina's scan would reveal something startling. The symbol was recognized, bringing up a small section within the information Sivok had given them as belonging to a race called the Bentari. What was disturbing was, according to the information, they were advanced, and despite being under the control of the Sentinels, had very volatile tempers in combat. From the looks of it, it seemed as if even some of the Draque were AFRAID of the Bentari.

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

ixack studies the entire situation, his blue eyes scanning over the computers and his mind at work "Bentari.......Sounds like a worthy opponent." Ixack broadcasts to Daina jokingly, not bothering to answer her earlier statement for lack of proper words "If there's anything I can do to help, let me know."

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

The Shadow Wind picked up speed slightly, and took up a high orbit around the planet, as the two side bay doors opened, and Toryn responded to Talok. "Just tell me where the supplies need to go."

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

The Ingrali again move at different angles, attempting to alter the crystal as instructed, though if that failed and an opening came up to slice the cable, they would take that as well.

Sally keeps on working the hammer and blow torch, but she is unable to keep the Ingrali away from the panel. As the energy is rerouted the robot freezes before slowly falling forwards, hanging on the cables like a puppet. "Thanks. Sally's a heavy duty repair drone, really. Moving stuff and welding, not fighting. Anyway - hm. This sector is clear, so is the rest of the ship, but the link to the Sphere is down. Without it my ship doesn't work efficiently. Would you be so kind. . .?"

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

Talok quickly sends a set of coordinates to Toryn as to where to send the supplies, then sends a short message to the Hive asking Narlina to send people there.

The Ingrali who had originally beamed over responds to him. "We've started, let us finish fixing this up and save some trouble."

There was a sudden shift in space itself and suddenly a single Scalerious class Draque warship, fully functional, emerged from hyper-space near the planet. After a moment, it seemed this one was willing to talk, and over the radio a single voice was heard. "Goddamnit, it seems we've arrived too late to stop the other Draque and Enoly. What the hell is going on?"

To anyone who had already spoken to him before, they would recognize the voice as belonging to Sivok, the rebel Draque leader.

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

Several smaller ships leave the port and starboard bays of the Shadow Wind, and head towards the indicated coordinates.

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

Daina frowns, looking over the files for the Bentari. These guys meant business... looked, effectively, like hired muscle. She spares a glance for Ixack, and shakes her head.

"It's not good news for me. The Bentari are known for being particularly vicious in close quarters, and have exceptional resilience to matcht their strength. I'm not looking forward to this."

Before she can say more, explain about why -exactly- she's not happy with this, Sivok arrives, and the Asari is back at her station.

"Sivok, this is Daina. We already beat back the Draque, but I have bad news. We tracked the survivors - yes, they retreated -, we tracked the survivors to a large gate. From which I'm currently tracking Bentari ships. Half coming here, and half heading to the Gou'ald main shipyards. In short? We have issues. The Hive has gone dark, after surviving a suicide attack intended for the planet. We're going to need to divide our forces - can you give me an estimate on the strength of Bentari warships?"

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

There is a stunned moment of silence on Sivok's end as he processes this. Finally he replies. "I see. My sensors are indicating six Bentari vessels heading this way, their speed will bring them here in fifteen minutes. It is logical to assume that the remaining forces will split into groups of seventy two to maximize their effectiveness and damage potential. Unfortunately, we do not have enough ships to split between three different locations and protect them effectively. As for the Hive, it is moving, so I would guess they have effected repairs since you last looked."

There was another pause and he finally added, "as for the Bentari ships, they will be able to easily handle the Gou'ald and Tokra vessels. They tend in groups to attack coordinated on a single target as often as possible to drain their shields, but if you can buzz them enough they may break off and target individually. As long as they don't group smash any one ship, most of you should be fine against them. With only six coming here, your ship itself right now could probably survive with medium damage done."

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

Toryn's voice came across a comm channel again. "Is there anything else I can help with?"

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

Daina brings up an inter-Galactic map, for just a moment, eyes flicking over the targets.. the shipyard, the colony, and their current location.. it all came down to priorities, really.

"All ships, this is Daina Eil'Mori, addressing all ships. With the exception of my own vessel, Thor's vessel, the large... creature.. sitting just out of system, yes, you with the Asteroids... and Camulus. Everyone else, I need you to head at maximum speed to these coordinates. We have an attack incoming, estimated at 72 warships, on a near-defenceless world. It's going to be a slaughter down there."

With that said, Daina transmits the coordinates for P3X-474, and opens a channel to Camulus.

"I need you to escort our leviathan friend to P2C-257. With his abilities, you should be able to hold off a similar number of ships there.

Finally, the Asari throws Ixack a grin, and opens a channel to Thor.

"Hold position at the Space Gate. We're coming, and we're going to have a fair few Bentari after us.

The last message she sends is telepathic, aimed at Siphon.

Dear, we need you on the bridge. I have a plan.

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

Narlina's hive vanished into hyperspace, as did all but one of the Ingrali ships. Obviously this one remained behind to grab their fellow crew members when they were done with the ship they had beamed over to.

Camulus acknowledged Daina, and then moved into position, waiting for Nebula to head on out as well.

Talok turned to Veda. "You willing to come with to P3X-474?"

Thor briefly came back over the channel. "Understood, I will be here."

Sivoks's marauder made a fast jump to hyper-space, no reply from him to Daina, but then again, Sivok could be very few with words when he had to be.

Siphon made it just to the bridge doors when Daina contacted him again. "Right behind you, what's this I hear about a hundred plus ships and Bentari?"

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

Daina spins around with a characteristic grin.

"Short story short, we have 150 hostiles. 6 coming here, two groups of 72 headed elsewhere. I've already sent ships to deal with the others.. all we have to do is distract the 6, and lure them back to the Space Gate. They're Bentari.. so... any ideas?"

The sparkle in her eyes says exactly what she's thinking.

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

As the Shadow Wind's main drive began powering up, and the side bays closed, Toryn came across the comm again. "Should I call for some backup from the Warden? It's not like the other carriers are that busy at the moment."

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

"I can divert their attention if at all possible. Khala'a Bounty is good at that." Ixack replies mentally to Daina, his eyes darting over and looking at Siphon "Or I could remain here and help with any repairs that need doing. Your ship runs on the same technology of the UED ships, right?" he half says to, half asks Siphon

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

((Veda was still on her ship, last I checked ;) ))

Veda answers Talok over the Comms system.

Not much else to do, my ship isn't repaired enough for another fight. Back to the bridge then?

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

The Ingrali who had originally beamed over responds to him. "We've started, let us finish fixing this up and save some trouble."

"Thank you. . . Hm. Okay. Get back to the big corridor and just walk on straight, upwards the spiral. The Connection Room is at the very end."

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

The Ingrali move once again, heading for the spot indicated over the radio. They would soon reach the Connection Room, assuming nothing stood in their way between them and it now.

Talok replies quickly to Veda given this information. I would say yes. Coming here to the bridge seems a good idea, especially since once we get into battle the hangar bays will both be vented of atmosphere to launch the modified gliders." If she looked off to her left, she would now notice that there were a half dozen small ships that appeared to be similar to Gou'ald death gliders, but were clearly different. It also seemed that there were far fewer in this bay than there was room for, meaning either there weren't that many, or the majority of them were in the other bay at the other side of the ship.

Siphon shakes his head. "No, our technology ought to be very different from UED's, though the principle remains the same. Actually, the speed of your ship just gave me an idea. The modified gliders are about the same speed, and can be remote controlled."

He turns to Daina, an idea already forming. "If we were to set off a shaped nova emp charge directly over the atmosphere of the planet, it would knock out sensor scans of the surface for several hours. More than enough time for us to make it to the gate, and leave our taunting message. Something along the lines of, 'we've detected your approach and already evacuated the planet. You can't harm them now, and we've taken your space gate, meaning you can't go home now. Take it from us... if you can and aren't too AFRAID of one measly ship holding it."

A pause and he adds, "we can rig a 302 then to transmit, buzz them and then fly off towards the gate. They have a small hyper-space generator that can get them to the gate easy enough, just not out of our galaxy. They weren't meant to travel more than about 6000 light years or so on a sustained jump. We're well within that bubble. Think it could work?"

He pauses then responds back to Torin himself. "Any kind of backup you can give would be highly appreciated. Sorry to have to drag you into what seems to be an all out war though. If we can, ideally more ships at both P3X-474 and P2C-257 would help, though if we can only get a handful more then I'd say send them to P3X-474. They are completely defenseless, they don't even know about the Draque or Enoly, let alone the Bentari or this war."

He closes the channel, then a thought occurs to him. "Daina, Ixack, you both feel like helping out on a rush job? I think I can modify several devices we have here, along with a small Asgard energy core in each to emit a shield over that gate instead of making them stabilizing thrusters. If we can, we can activate the shield and effectively block out any incoming ships, they would dial in and impact the shield. If we do that, we can also prevent them from circumventing our efforts by making another space gate. They should operate differently from normal gates since they are tied to a galaxy, not a planet. Plus we can also use the damn things ourselves if we had to in order to scout their forces. They may have just handed us the means to not only scout them, but deliver the Sangraal when it's finished."

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

The Shadow Wind jumps to P3X-474, arriving with the other ships sent there. A second ship, similar in design but with a slightly different color scheme arrives as well, with six frigate-sized ships. Toryn's voice comes across the comm channel to any friendly ships in the area. "Have more reinforcements coming here. Just taking them a little bit longer to organize."

At P2C-257, a pair of the carriers arrives, and are accompanied by two cruiser-type ships, and ten frigate-sized ships. These immediate send out what appears to be an automated signal to the shipyard facilities, indicating that they've been sent as support.

Re: Space and Battle Thread (Milky Way)

Some people would have taken a minute to sit back, absorb the sheer volume of information that comprised Siphon's plan. The various devices involved, the jury-rigging he without exception embarked on - all of it was enough to awe the average soldier, and leave them without a clue as to what he actually planned.

Daina had two advantages. First, she'd worked with Siphon for years. Second, she had a telepathic link with his mind. So in fact, the Asari knew what he was planning, even before he walked in the room. With that in mind, Daina smiles, and turns back to her station.

"..Jettisoning nova now. I'll also drop a missive to the peoplle down there to let them know what's going on. Get on that 302, I'll get in contact with Thor.

Sure enough, she opens the comm links once again.

"Thor. We're on our way there now - we should be able to jury rig a shield for the gate, and draw the Bentari after us. Be prepared. The Bentari are reputed for boarding their opponents."
