Yeah I agree she does look better, but she looked nice before too.![]()
wow, she looks a lot better but you didnt hafta change her![]()
Just a random musing, but playing the demo, I was sort of struck by the idea of having a game like this that played as a mystery. Obviously the dev has his own, very story driven idea, but I think the setting of a magic school is just so versatile.
For example, say the main character comes in on her first class and makes everybody look stupid. Then, unknown parties start setting traps or ambushes for her of a lewd nature. There could be like 10 students and 3 or 4 teachers, and maybe some other people in the school, and any of them could be a suspect.
Meanwhile, you have to go about your character's day-to day life completing various tasks at school, and every day at some point you'll get ambushed somehow.
These ambushes should be pretty hard to avoid, but there should be incentives if you do manage. Maybe if you avoid the trap-of-the-day, someone else gets caught in it instead and you get to watch or something. For example, they release a tentacle monster in the hallway to your dorm, you outrun it, and it gets another student. Maybe you can commandeer whatever they used to try to trap you and use it on someone you suspect is in on it. Or use it on yourself later. The possibilities are vast.
In order to keep some gameplay in the game, you could also do some sleuthing to try to get hints to make the traps easier to avoid, like searching for clues or asking people questions. But the whole class hates you, so it would be really hard to get them to help you. Plus, you wouldn't know which of them were in on it, and telling the wrong person would have the effect of making the trap-of-the-day harder to avoid.
The game would go until you were able to confront the perpetrators and either report them or 'deal with' them, until the daily ambushes broke your will, or maybe to some other end. Ideally, it would be difficult enough that you wouldn't have to lose on purpose to get scenes.
I think you could get a decent playthorugh out of a linear RPG like this, or if you were really a keener, you could come up with a bunch of possibilities for perpetrators, traps, etc. and have the game randomly select a set of them. Or even have some form of procedural generation.
OK, daydreaming over.
I'm hoping that we will see a scene with the Ogre from the class, in the future.
Oh, I just might have a model that could work for an ogre laying around here somewhere...![]()
Atta boy, Reeps!
* Finally, and I know this may bother you, because as 3-d renders go you're doing a fine job, but - the combination of 3-d and 2-d is very jarring. Do you have any plans to eventually replace all the other characters with, at least, 3-d facial renders? I love the anime style art of the minor characters' faces, dunno if those are just placeholders or not, but if you did the entire game in that style I certainly would have no complaints! I don't know much about 3-d model rendering so I don't know which option involves more work for you. Currently, with Sinius being the only other character who has a 3-d facial render, he sort of sticks out like a sore thumb early on, yelling "I'M THE BAD GUY". I know this is a demo so that might not be what you're planning for the final result. But to me, it seems like the 2-d anime style "fits" better with the overall SNES-era JRPG feel of the game.
First off, GREAT job so far! I love the work you have put into developing this game. In many ways, story-wise, it's everything Witch Trainer *should* have been. I love that it has branching plot choices (the Sinius / Bernal branch). It shows great promise! I hope that in the final product, the school will feel much bigger than this with a lot more options, more students and teachers wandering the halls to talk to, perhaps a day/night system with a clock, etc., etc.
I do have a few questions and concerns though, I hope you don't mind.
* I read the changelogs in the OP and a lot of those things don't seem to exist in my demo. Ie., as soon as I made the choice between Bernal and Sinius, the demo ends. Did I not download the latest version? Is it patron only?
* Will the completed game have music?
* It seems weird that everyone else has smaller rooms in dorms but Sinius and Bernal get these huge luxury suites on the main floor of the school. Maybe this might work if they were declared in the story as having some prestigious position - sort of like "Head Boy / Head Girl" at Hogwarts. But as it is, the story treats them like they're just any ordinary student, especially Bernal. So why the sumptuous digs?
* I dunno, but it seems to me that having Sinius use the "portal" type spell to fuck Tara while she is sitting in her chair, on like the second day of class, while a deeply hot story idea, seems too early. That's the sort of supreme degradation & humiliation that seems, to me, should occur later in the story of a trainer game. Ie., there's sort of a logical procession of sexual acts and it's like Sinius just skipped past all the buildup and went straight for the main event - but achieved it in a way that didn't give players anything hot to really look at. For purposes of player enjoyment I'd recommend a storyline where he brings Tara along towards worse and worse degradation more gradually. DEFINITELY keep the "tele-fuck" scene, it's super hot, but consider moving it later in the story and replacing it on day 2 with something suitably nasty but less intense. Maybe he could use his spell to tease Tara's clit with a vibe, driving her helplessly to a loud orgasm which humiliates her and causes the near-expulsion that gives him leverage over her? Just a thought.

* Speaking of the JRPG shell, do you have any plans to implement items, skills, combat, things that drain hp / mp, etc., etc?
Anyway, great demo and looking forward to seeing where you go with it!
1) Down the Bernal Route, you might also have a Netorare thing going on, seeing as, though Sinius is gone, Bryce is still around.
2) You might want to rethink your pacing. At the moment, we're on version 0.2, and, considering what you've got planned, you might want to space it out more.
Tried this and liked it. Thanks!
1 quick question though, is Sinius made to be one we root for? Found him more infuriating than our protagonist![]()
Heh, interesting question. I think I wanted to make it fairly easy for the player to enjoy putting Tara into humiliating and corrupting types of situations because she can be such a bitch at times. But then again, Sinius is such a bastard that maybe you want to deny him the pleasure of Tara becoming corrupted by him.
So, which do you choose?![]()
Bridget is beautiful ! Nice work man.
Ha, that was exactly what happened. As much as I wanted Tara taught some humility, denying Sinius was just a tad more satisfying.
Hey Reeps,
Congrats on breaking $2000!
