Making loot tables for mob drops and chests.
All this data entry will pay off in the long run.
I can recycle most of it in future, fully 3D incarnations of the Renfield series.

So some last-minute glitches have me scrambling to make today's deadline.
The encounter lists got shuffled and needed to be manually reset
and a shader for some trees wouldn't work with the latest version of Unity.
I should still be able to get out the alpha combat demo in a few hours.

Some people have already DL'd it successfully so perhaps it's a matter of your local laws?
I'll add an alternative upload.

Ok I tried again and found what was happening. Somehow mediafire tells me that the file is blocked when I get to the page after I clicked on your link. But when I copy the link and paste it into url bar it works :confused:

the battle rolls suck, miss miss miss hit for 1....get hit for 153..... and the foliage on the battle field needs to go it just blocks the view of the enemy's. other then that its a good start, don't know if there is anything else in the demo used cheat engine to force up the lvl only to see it was pointless for now and then final gave up on it.

But did it run alright?
No crashes or memory leaks?

Mediafire rejects all links from ULMF. As you found, you can work around it with copy-paste.

Alright so I've hopefully fixed the issues Major Kagami noticed:

-Hit rates have been improved slightly
-Foliage has been cleaned up
-Leveling mechanic introduced
-Enemy loot tables expanded
-Some serious bugfixes (Including one that's been eluding me for weeks)
-Store added

Remember guys: the input you give me here on content, theme and mechanics will shape the future of the game as a whole.

The new demo should be available in a few hours.

Been checking out Honey Select myself.
It's not bad really.
A few elements I might consider implementing in Renfield's H-system.
Illusion is the standard by which my game will be judged after all.

I played for a bit, but kept on finding that Our Hero was ... just too terrible at fighting, and the concept of grinding through that first level to see if the balance gets better wasn't enticing. Each area seems to have opponents that widely vary in difficulty, and it's not telegraphed at all whether you should expect to get your ass kicked before you enter a given area.

But gameplay balance isn't what this is about, is it?

The assets look reasonable. The combat engine gets a bit tedious right now, but that could just be a function of balance. I can't think of anything else that stuck out to me...

The island near the castle has the weakest opponents.
You can grind them until you get a little gold or a gear drop and then you'll be on stronger footing.
