you need to get the jumping shoes(from lava area), go to the forest that leads out of tentacle place, go to right and find key to tentacle forest gate. then you can go kill the tentacle boss IF you have removed the tentacle loving titles.

I have already done all that. I meant the barrier just before the boss himself. But I actually figured it out, you need to activate the tentacle title and get the scene with the tentacles in order to get the second tentacle title, which makes that barrier vanish. It's really stupid that you have to be fucked by tentacles to prevent yourself from being fucked by tentacles, but whatever.

iirc, you're suppose to head down to the library and read the books, then get back to the fire.
