After downloading and testing your demo:
- A bare RGS engine game.
- Faulty dialogue.
- Simple fight mechanics.
After the first fight, I didn't even feel like continuing, because this demo was so bland and forced! And until that first fight, I didn't see any 3D imagery whatsoever.
The biggest problem though.....quoting your Patreon:
This basically tells me and any other Patreon supporter that you are not only inexperienced in what you do, but you also probably don't mind finishing the project you ask support for. You are most likely looking for financial support to pay off your fees for studying.
For F*ck's sake, you blatantly said you want to create big-a** titles and franchises like "God of War" and "Fable" - what do you care about some porn project, anyway? What ORIGINAL assets can you present to your Patrons?
WHY should ANY Patreon care to donate $10 a month for your project?
I look forward for your honest reply.
fair enough so first of all
you said you didnt even finish playing the game
how about you do otherwise don't comment on it
and i know my game is just a simple one but hey i'm not an expert and i never said i was. Thats why i'm still learning. and look either if i get support or not i was and still happy that i created this " bare RGS engine game, Faulty dialogue, Simple fight mechanics."
as for creating games like fable, it's my dream to join one of the teams that create that game but I'm just a guy who's still no where near that dream and still working to get as close as possible and these games are the only ones that get financial support.
As for my patrons, i'm offering a game with hopefully lots of possibilities and choices and not just a straight forward story. If they enjoyed it then i would really appreciate any donation and if you saw my rewards i said i will pay back 10% of the people paying for some rewards and half of my money i will put into buying better equipment for rendering.
and i would like to thank you for pointing out those stuff and you're right i need to remove mentioning franchises like fable
anyway sorry if you didnt like my game wish you the best
Lol think we all got your point in your first post. That said, my post acknowledges 1 positive whereas my immediately following sentence says there are too many negatives to list. I try to look on the positive side, especially as an initial beta release. However game wise, I'm not yet confident OP can deliver.
At the same time, I wouldn't try to determine OP's true intentions from text over the internet, as it's been so easily misinterpreted in the past. I still think the intentions are good - quoting OP, "i hope you guys enjoy the game and if you did please do support me on my patreon". People who enjoy the game should support him, and those who didn't won't.
PS to OP: if your end goal isn't to help pay tuition, you can stop reading now. But if it
is, I'd honestly recommend something like
You must be registered to see the links
instead, or doing something you're good at now (even if you may not enjoy it), instead of something you'll still need to practice. Or do something creative that no one expects
, since you know your situation better than most.
thanks keith3
as for my end goal i don't know yet i really enjoy making games through rpg maker and right now i'm learning ruby to create my own scripts in game
as for finance, i got a job n its paying off my tuition fees. I only created the patreon page because i saw an opportunity to do something i like and get paid for. Plus get feed back on my game to improve it.
I really respect who ever tells me that my game need that and that instead of just saying its a trashy game.
anyway thanks again for your reply
Whenever I log on and practically the entire first page of topics all have the same person as the last poster, it's easy to tell what's going on. What bugs me is that they don't even bother to post anything meaningful in those threads and their intentions are painfully transparent. I understand why there's a post count restriction (spam bots), but it also seems to encourage these new creators to jump in and spam the forum in their own way. I know it's petty, but I tend not to want to even look at the author's work when they do it. Then again, I'm not a fan of these increasingly common 3D games in the first place, so I wouldn't be heavily invested in this, anyway.
Regardless, good luck!
your right but if you entered a website and wanted to promote your game and it says that you have to have 15 posts till you make a thread what would you do. And I commented on games that i already tried i didnt went into their thread and start bringing them down and say bad things about them.
it was a simple compliment that doesn't hurt anyone and yet it helped me to get my 15 posts
if you think that it was sooo annoying to read a compliment then don't bother reading.
I just want to thank who ever viewed the thread and checked the game
As for those who didn't but only left posts I would ask you to check the game before judging, otherwise just leave the thread (no hard feeling)
I made this game on my own with whatever I learned and i'm still learning, and i'm really happy that by now I got 620 views
Also, I understand I didn't say anything about my game but I did that because i want people to check it and see for themselves what the game has to offer. Otherwise, I could of just wrote a book telling the story and add pictures.
Lastly, I would like to mention that most of the posts were targeting my battle system which i barely worked on, instead look for the variety of events in the game and it's just the first update.
P.S. I would like to apologize to who ever was annoyed by my post and thought it was a spam in their thread, I was just trying to get 15 posts. And for whoever complained about it, I already removed my post and sorry again.
