This is the translation project for 性教育は蜜の味 " Sex Education is a taste of honey ".

Needed: The game without drm

The game itself is huge and uses a pseudo 3d enviroment for a young girl coming in age.
To play the game, the story is very important because it helps you not to walk around aimless.

Also there is a thread where you can discuss things when you are stuck >>> HERE <<<
(I've added the walkthrough - w.i.p. to this thread down below)

For the time being, it's not possible to integrate the translation inside the game.
The method used, is external and needs the ' replacer ' plugin for textractor.

The replacer plugin and textractor has limits, but works well enough regardless of the
game version as long the ingame text doesn't change.

Known bugs: Textractor catches ingame text wrong when fast forwarding / speeding

Please download the latest version of textractor: >>> <<<

How to use the replacer plugin / start the game:

1. I suggest to place a copy of textractor (x86) inside a subdir in the game's folder
Ex. "c:\Sex Education is a taste of honey\textractor"
2. Copy "SavedGames.txt" into textractor folder
3. Edit "SavedGames.txt" and correct the path that it fits your game's path
4. To prevent textractor to edit the file, set "SavedGames.txt" to read only
5. Copy "SavedReplacements.txt" into textractor folder (the game's translation)
6. Copy "SavedExtensions.txt" into textractor folder
Ex. 1580709848319.png
7. Start the game (either your system has to be set to japanese or use emulation)
8. Start textractor (use elevated permissions / emulation to japanese if needed)
Ex. 1580710248797.png

Since "SavedGames.txt" contains the agth code, when ingame text occurs, textractor
will display your "userhook" 1580710322165.png

Note:
Textractor keeps searching for other codes. If there are too many when playing for
some time, you can remove them in textractor (keep your userhook!).
1580710482579.png
The userhook does contain around 6 instances: story / choices / menu / save+load + not needed

By default you should use story only and if needed you can switch over to the other userhook for
choices (both will have translations). Ex. 4: story and 6: choices (depends on detection order)

After preperations are done, you can play the game without the need of internet in better than
machine easy to understand translation.

By all means, i'm just someone who makes fan-translations,
it might not be a real 1:1 - but it should be close and easy to understand.

The translation may contain grammar and / or spelling errors.

Don't forget, this is W.I.P, the translation and walk is far from finished and will take lots of time.

The player > YOU < are playing Hitomi Sakura - a young girl coming in age.
Last year, her brother Hitoshi Sakura visited the place and was a real pest to
everyone in Minamimachi.

The caretaker of the fathers house is absent due to an urgent business,
but the grandmother left the janitor as replacement. The janitor was
told to take care of Hitoshi, but he behaves like a neet and thought
that Hitomi plays a prank on him being a girl and no boy.

Instead of just playing around day by day, Hitomi got registered at
the nearby school in next town (Kitamachi) for summer class.

I'm just posting to mention that Textractor comes with a plugin called thread linker that makes it so you can have both choices and story threads show at the same time. for example lets say story is 4 and choices is 6 if you link from 6 to 4 all choices would appear in the story thread without you having to swap between them. also thread linker isn't enabled by default you have to add it through the extensions menu by right clicking then selecting the thread linker dll file in the textractor folder.

As of today because of a genius, it's possible to make a proper translation:

Million thanks to you!!!

Preview:
Now to inject the already translated parts will be lots of work and take time.

Will you post a detailed guide to do or the quick "a paste & replace files" way?

For the Translations

Currently i'm injecting my translations so far into the game files, there are 18k+ files to patch and i'm not done with it.

The PC is doing most of the work (i used powergrep to s&r), but even after this, the rest needs to be translated after i've checked it worked well.

More preview pictures:

The first injection went smoothly, i consider to offer a pre-alpha when it's done (to patch 18k files takes a LOT time!).

Many hours just to create a patch, that's why i can't offer updates just for every 1000 lines!

EDIT: Okay, it takes just to create one patch 8 + 2,5 hrs to generate it... wth... *WELP*

Okay, here is the pre-alpha patch (incomplete since i patched only the lines in i've translated so far!).

You need a drm free v1.2 game to apply it.

Known:
  • There might be a few lines while others are translated still in japanese
  • There will be in the later game japanese lines having party translated expressions
  • Currently the choices are not translated
  • Old savegames might show still japanese even if the line is already translated
Why a pre-alpha release?

The upcomming two weaks, i might not have even a single minute to work on any project.
I want to give everyone the chance to see and test the translation in work.
For everyone who tests it, you have the chance to give me your opinions and i'll check them later.

I wish everyone a lot fun.

EDIT:

Small info, the game has to be exact 18122 lines of text. I've translated around 53% full lines and
lots of partial lines. 8505 lines are left to correct and to finish the games translation.

I've been testing it out, using my own save as well as saves posted in the discussion thread - and so far have not come across any bugs or issue's. What you had already translated is showing up as expected, in the dialogue/action box without any issue's from what I've seen. Untranslated, and mixed translation area's, are showing as expected.

There are some bits where the grammar & spelling could likely be fixed up. However I'm not sure if you would want these pointed out, considering how much more you have to directly translate. It's not like the 'errors' are MTL level of badness either - ie it's completely clear what's being said/done/etc and just small issue's: ie using the word 'sleepie' instead of 'sleepy' or missing and/the in some places which would make the sentences better, but they are still readable, etc.

Once i'm done with the translation, grammar checking has to be done bcuz it's just HUGE and you miss things very easy.

Until now, i've fixed lots of lines having a single japanese char at the beginning and replaced parts that uses the same phrases over and over.
