Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

"Careful, the damn thing was able to shoot electricity. That's a new tactic if that is one of the spores, though why it tried to run away is beyond me. Krysta, you may want to have a look at this."

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

Kars nods and moves forwards just ahead of Senkek. He has little trouble using the jet pack in the cramped space due to his smaller size. "Let's go buddy. Gotta get the lights on." He moved as fast as Senkek would follow. They both reached the ladder before long.

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

Given that we don't know if anything is down there, why don't I go in first. I can use the spare parts I brought as a shield until you get to the bottom, and I'm better with my vibroblade than a pistol. Senkek says before slowly drawing the sword. With a small press of a button a dull hum fills the area as a high frequency vibration begins to travel throughout the blade giving it the increased cutting power needed for it to be a viable weapon in this day and age.

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

Thall shoulders the weapon and silently talks to himself. Draven would catch something along the lines of "... a lot of small caliber weapons, but NOOOO, you had to take the biggest gun available." He kneels down next to the dead creature and presses a button on his gauntlet. A needle shoots out of one of the fingers of the glove that is promptly sunken into the creature's flesh. "I'm taking a sample. Definitely a mutation of the Spores. We should package it up later and send it to Ardetzki - he's the specialist about these things, right? "Or he likes to think that he is."

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

Draven shoots the Telarin a withering look. "The goddamn thing IS dead right? It isn't gonna pull some ungodly healing bullshit and start flailing around again? Considering vaporizing what's left of it to be perfectly frank with you both. Take what sample you need then let's make sure it isn't going to pull some rabbit trick."

Draven seems rather displeased.

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

While he doesn't say anything, Viper appears to be agreeing with Draven. His rifle still hasn't been moved to point away from what's left of the spore, and it would look like he's very carefully watching it for any sign of movement.

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

Krysta, who had been whimpering on the floor at each and every sound, and had also started to cry looks up at the sound of voices, "Is... Is.... is everyone okay?" she said softly, her voice still quavering.

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

"Besides being extremely agitated from that thing trying to electrocute me, yeah, I'm fine. It didn't try to attack anyone else."

Again he thanked the stars for his strange abilities.

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

Cyrus continues with Kars and Senkek to the Generators.

"Dammit, I'm almost jealous. Nicely handled though."

Now knowing that other lifeforms were on the station, he activates his laser, which begins scanning the path ahead of them for any movement.

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

There was another choked sob, this one of relief. "I'm sorry..." she said, standing on shakey legs, "The things I can't see terrify me."

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

"This is Vance, what the hell's going on over there?" says a voice through the comm, Vance, who had fallen asleep a few minutes ago, waking up upon hearing the conversation from the people actually using their comms "I'm sitting here watching over things, and then I hear you guys screamin and yellin about some kinda spore thing. he says into the comm again, then sighs "Do you need my assistance? Are you all alive?" he asks, standing and looking around at the hanger, eying the chaingun still pointed at the strange vessel "Why do I always choose the boring stuff? Man, this mission is boring" he thinks, stretching his arms and sighing

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

Draven smiled slightly, though Krysta couldn't see it yet. "It's nothing to be ashamed about, your forte lies in medical healing, not combat. There is nothing wrong at all with that, you can't be expected to be a detached killing machine like some of us are, or can be. Just stick to your strengths, and you'll be fine."

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

She sighed and edged out into the hallway, "Yes well... "

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

"You will be fine, just do your thing."

He clicks his radio on again. "Yeah we're fine Vance, just some sort of mutation to the fungal spore creatures according to Thall. We've got it covered, thanks. How are things at your end?"

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

"I'm bored out of my skull, but it's peaceful on my end" Vance says through the comm, looking around at the hanger "I just wish something would show up over here, I'm losing my mind from boredom!" he says sarcastically.

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

"If you're that bored, I can take over watching the hangar. That will let you catch up to one of the other groups, Vance." Viper offers.

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

"And be even more bored working on computers? I was thinking more along the lines of something to kill." Vance says over the comm, a devious chuckle following "Or at least some one or something to talk to." he says, wandering around the hanger

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

The chaingun twitched and flicked to "look" at Vance for a moment. Kars voice was heard projected from his ship, but not broadcast on the team comms. A blunt raspy, "Hi..."

Back in the tunnels Kars grinned eyeing his computer, he could see Vance looking back. Tapping the at the screen again the gun returns to lock on the Mako, and Kars hops down the shaft, slowly drifting after Senkek.

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

All that can be heard from the comm is a loud, angry, yet frightened "DAMN YOU, KARS!" before it went silent again

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

Kars face cracked with a laugh. Off comms, "What, what'd I do?" He continued sniggering quietly, making sure not to let his attention slip from the dark passages too much.
