Re: What's your most over-rated game? Most underrated?
Let's see...First, my choices...
Over-rated: Halo. Mostly just because of rabid fanboys and the fact that it was the only thing keeping XBox alive for a while. And most MMO's. I can't get paying 10-20 dollars a month to run around and kill things, and yet, it's called Evercrack for a reason. I'd like to pay my money in one lump sum and be done with it.
Under-Rated - Katamari Damacy. Your drunken father, the King of All-Cosmos and his giant purple crotch destroy the universe one night and so you, the dimutive little Prince, must run around with a giant sticky ball and...stick stuff to it so he can make new planets and stars. And there's a sequel, too.
That being said...I have Legend of the Dragoon. It freaking rocks! Took at while to get the battle system down (ugh!) but I agree. Great concept, great story. It was actually the first game I was ever going to write a fanfic for. It was gonna be about the Wingly sister that went out into the world and why her brothers were so pissed at the Wingly in your party. I never found the names (I'll have to look for them) which is what always kept me from actually writing it. And, as you can see, I still don't remember them *laughs*
Only questions left from VIII (Which is my Favorite) was whether Squall was Lagunas' Illigitamate son with Raine (It was made to sound like she died from complications after childbirth during which Laguna was Negotiating in Esthar) and... HOW THE HELL THAT BLOCKHEAD BECAME PRESIDENT?!?
That's always been my theory, but of course, they never answered it. And, well, if Dubbya can be elected.... (Joke! Joke!)
Underrated: The Bouncer. Fucking hell, I loved that game. I still have it and play it. It was kind of popular when it came out, but it's seriously rare to see anyone still playing it these days. A shame.
Bouncer was one of the first games I ever picked up for the PS2. It was pretty fun! I haven't played it for some time, but I have the soundtrack (and love it!) Not to mention that the characters are really neat. Second playthroughs did get a little more difficult, but it was interesting to see all the stories unfolding.
