Okay, I am on it, try this.

Success! Thank you for your perseverance. This should help quite a few of our fellow translators as well.

EDIT 1:

I spoke too soon. The .txt file and .sk are both empty. One step closer anyway.

Well, try this. I have installed cygwin in an fresh windows, and this version works for "extract", "clean_txt" ( very slow, I noticed in cygwin ), "compare"
Delexicus, could you post a screenshot of your .as opened in Notepad+ ? ( it's the same as mine, so it's not the culprit )

EDIT 2 : Delexicus, could you do " ls -l " in your terminal and post it ?

( I will be able to work on this, for only one more hour, I have some work tomorrow. )
I'm sorry to say but it's still a blank .txt. I do have access to a few other computers. I'll try use using your parser on them later.

EDIT 1: Sorry, I forgot to give you a picture of the .as file.

Hi all.

I've been mostly lurking in the background for a good chunk of this, but I've been whittling away at getting Karen (and some others) translated and proofread to the best of my abilities.

Right now, I've only really managed to clean up the intro for the Lovers Ending for Karen, as well as some proofreading in the main file, but I'm hoping to get more done soon. With any luck, I can figure out how to make the script flow without the translation sounding like something from an early 90's Squeenix game.

As it were, here's the incomplete script of the Love Ending, done mostly because I can visualize the writing flow better like this. It currently only covers the intro, but I'm hoping to have the sex scenes and the outro in there soon.

On that note, how does one work the parser? I've just downloaded it, but I've no idea where the instructions for it are.

(It may be a wise idea to open the txt file in notepad++, tbh, just because I've also thrown in the original japanese lines as a reference)

I may cover the other endings after finishing work on the Love ending, but for now I'm mostly focused on making sure the translations are in the sub file.

Donocad and I have been trying for most of the weekend to get his parser to work for me. You can find the parser and it's readme in the Community JSK Guide in it's downloads section. There's a link to the Community Guide in my signature.

Well that's upsetting. I tried the parser on another computer an it worked.

I'll try reinstalling cygwin on my main pc. I'm sorry I caused you so much grief Donocad.

Yes !! All's well that ends well.
It's not everyone who would keep up with me, Delexicus, so a big thanks to you.
I had looked up the parser, their ver3_4 to ver3_6 wouldn't eventually work in other's pc. So all of this was for a good work and tenacity.

I will sleep well tonight, see you later guys.

EDIT 1 : Hi, I am back.

I'm more than willing to help with the testing of your parser Donocad. Just let me know what else you'd like to know or what you'd like me to do.

Here is a screen capture with the LS -L terminal command. I also tried out v3_8. It gives an empty output as well on my main PC. I haven't reinstalled Cygwin yet. I found out it is quite a process to completely uninstall Cygwin.

EDIT 1:

I don't know if it would make a difference, but my system is set as Japanese locale.

My system specs are as follows.

Windows 10 Pro
CPU: Intel 6900K Revision M0 @3.7GHZ Overclock
GPU: Nvidia Geforce 980 TI X2 SLI
Motherboard: Asus Rampage V Extreme BIOS v3902
RAM: 16GB X4 Mushkin MRB4U300GJJM16G @1500 Mhz
NVME: Samsung 960 EVO 1TB
HDD: 3TB X15 Raid 6 hardware array
RAID Controller: ServeRaid M5015 Firmware v2.130.403-4660
SAS Expander: HPSASEXPCard v2.08

System Build Log for the curious.

EDIT 2:

I just finished adding and updating the last couple pictures in the Community JSK Guide and it's pretty cool the progress that JPG compression tech has achieved since the original guide was made. The original guide was 9.91 MB with 55 pictures, and the new and expanded guide is 10 MB with 92 pictures even thought it has the same or higher resolution pictures.

EDIT 3:

I finalized the formatting guide for the Community JSK Guide. I think it looks pretty sharp. I formatted the first game entry. Imouto-sama Can’t Be Refused? If anyone has any comments or recommendations, let me know.

Good time of day, gentelmen (and ladies, if those can be found here). Could you, perhaps, give an ETA on Karen? I actually find JSK stories to be enjoyable, and playing with moon runes ruins that. Spectacular job on Miyui, by the way.

That seems to be the perennial question around here. The game was crowd sourced and as far as I know, work has pretty much stopped. Here are the translation spreadsheets if you'd like to see the progress of the translation for yourself.

Was the link to the Crowdsource ever posted here? since this is the place where most people go to find out the translation status of the games I figure this is where the prospective translators come as well.

Hi everyone !

Delexicus and me, have left a kind of mess on the thread, while trying to fix my parser. I have cleaned up a bit.

Ver3_5 to ver3_7 didn't fulfilled their purposes which is to work on cygwin. I cleaned the ver3_8 and renamed, it's now ver3_5.
I remind you that the ver3_5 can use .txt and .sk files created by ver3_3+ .

If possible, I would like some feedback about using the parser under linux.

( ... )

Delexicus, maybe the solution is .

Open in Notepad++ c:\cygwin\etc\fstab.d\Kevin-6900K
, and write ' none /cygdrive cygdrive binary,posix=0,user,noacl 0 0 ' ( create it if not exist )

My second guess is to create a folder under your home directory with cygwin : in cygwin, do ' cd ' , then ' mkdir test ; cd ./test '
, copy the .as on it and run the parser.

I tried making the file Kevin-6900K with the contents you supplied. Unfortunately it did not fix the problem. The "C:/Cygwin64/test" directory did work though. That got me thinking about what could be different about these directories. I should have figured it out sooner but it's the old problem of directories with spaces in the names. I tried doing the parser output in the folder "D:/Adults only/test" and it gave me empty files again. I tried again but in the folder "D:/Games/Adults_only/test" and it worked. I'll have to see if there is a workaround for Cygwin and spaces in directory structures. Either that or it's specific to your parser. You should try out your parser in Linux with a space in the directory structure to be sure.

As always, thanks for helping me out Donocad. Also, MEGA Translation Tools repository has been cleaned up and updated.

Ah, I didn't check this.
I have been on FreeBSD for a long time, so I never create directories with space. I added a warning in the README about using it with directory with spaces. Thank you Delexicus.

Hey guys! Just a quick question, is there anyway we can add a .exe file or something to the Reimi download on the Comm Guide? I don't know how to use .swf files so, I can't really play the game...

The best option would be to download Adobe Flash Projector. That's how I play all the JSK .SWF files. It's the forth link down in the Windows downloads section.

I should add a note about the flash projector in the guide too. I've used it for so long that I forgot about mentioning it.

That was seriously helpful. I've almost got Reimi working, but there seems to be one more problem. When I load the game up it acts weird.

Like, it'll start with a black screen, then I'll resize it and the main menu will pop up.
I click start, nothing happens, I resize, stat screen appears.
Click a dialogue option, nothing happens, resize, dialogue progresses.
I'll start the fight and I'll hear it working normally, but I won't see Reimi move or fight unless I resize.

I'm pretty sure the game mechanics and audio are still working fine, but for some reason the visuals don't update unless I resize the screen.

I'm currently using a VM on my Mac, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but it's kind of impossible to play it in this state. Any advice would be hugely appreciated.

Edit: Just tried it with a non JSK swf file and I had the same problem. I think there's a problem with the way I'm using Flash Projector.
