Re: Hate Thread

Post up that you're looking for one. Not necessarily that you'll host one. The response you get may surprise you.

Eh, that seems kind creepy. IDK maybe, I'm not exactly desperate. I suppose it's something to keep in mind.

LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO PLAY GAMES IN THEIR BASEMENT! SOCIALLY AWKWARD PREFERRED.

...I'm tempted to do that just to see who responds to that. Not that I'd think they were weird for doing so, they'd probably be pretty easy to get along with.

The only thing holding me back is I've had zero introduction to DnD

Re: Hate Thread

Actually it's pretty common for gaming shops to have bulletin boards for people looking to host games, or those looking for groups. Some stores even have rooms usable for actual gaming. Of course this is assuming you don't live in the middle of nowhere like myself, where the closest game store is at least 2 hours away.

Re: Hate Thread

There are two gaming shops I frequent in my town. One is a rather close knit group that really only friends and such play games at, they even close the shop early on Mondays to play DnD (they've had a single campaign going for a year now. I stop by to watch every now and again).

The other specializes in Warhammer (of various forms) but they do the occasional DnD and have a white board with notices for Warhammer games and DnD campaigns being run.

Re: Hate Thread

Wait, are we talking about an actualy Tabletop game shop? I don't think we have any of those anywhere near here.

Re: Hate Thread

I believe so yes, as I said I don't have any near me either.

Re: Hate Thread

I was talking about a tabletop game shop (the second store) and a comic shop (the first store)

Re: Hate Thread

Gamestop is the closest thing we have to something like that, seriously :\ Google skips straight from that to some furnature store, and from experience I believe it. Similar results for the other two cities within 30 minutes.

Re: Hate Thread

Well then, I guess you don't need to worry about feeling creepy at least.

Reminds me of a guy up in Sydney who puts up interesting fliers, often starting with an attention grabber but rambling off topic and ultimately asking if anyone wants to meet at this pole next Friday to hang out and discuss whatever topic his rambling ended him up on.

That sounds...pretty awesome, actually. Have you ever gone to meet him?

I don't live in Sydney. And it may be the "next state over", but it's still about a 12 hour drive.

Re: Hate Thread

I'm going to have to miss the second part of the special Jeopardy. They are doing the computer vs past champs thing, and after the first round the score was 2000, 5000, 5000, so a close game. (Comp was one of the 5000s.)

Re: Hate Thread

Ever have one of those days where you start feeling like crap and then, it just gets worse and worse?

Ya, long and short I hate the last 18 hours...

Also, I haet how people haven't been posting in my attempts to re-resurect my CYOAS >,>;

Re: Hate Thread

Holding a conversation with someone when you've forgotten what their name is, and it'd be very awkward to ask... Happened to me at least twice.

Re: Hate Thread

I usually just don't bring it up. Unless someone needs to be introduced, or you need to get their attention, it's usually okay.

The longer you put it off the worse it'll be to ask :\

Re: Hate Thread

I generally wait for it to come up on it's own. Usually someone else has called that person by name before I need it.

Re: Hate Thread

While reading you and OAMP, .
