I'd go with the safest area, aka: the swamp, IMO the extra work to prepare the land for building would be worth it in the long run.

Regarding the tower city - still feeling it would be more secure to build it within a large(preferably natural) body of water, nothing spawns there that can ruin your day.

Hmm hmm, not looking forward to that, admittedly. XD It'd be much quicker to use a natural ocean area to build a spire out of - Maiko suggested one such body of water before.

Although I'm not sure if anybody would object to that.

ii'm not bothered wiith eiither locatiion, 2o ii'll let you deciide. Although ii doubt ii'll be able to get onliine for much of next week and maybe po22iibly the week after, or at lea2t not able to get on miinecraft 2o ii won't be able to 2tart on my tower untiil ii get the iinternet at my apartment. My tower however wiill be 2prout tower from Pokemon G/S/C/.

I'm not bothered with either location either. I'd prefer to build it all right on the ocean part of a shore, and create a Venice style town, but that's just me.

Well, has anybody found an ocean biome? All I found were swamps and lakes so far. If people are ready to create an island - or islands - for their tower, I'm all for that.

If ya need dirt, there's plenty from the smoothing I've had to do for the castlelands, not to mention metro central. Can't make a island without it after all.

Here's a shot of part of the ocean biome that's just to the east of hill town. (Using standard directions, so the sun rises in that direction) Go past Bart and Oni's Blocky arena and you'll find it. The square structure just under the water is my tower, as, I think Taken said, I can expand that out to act as a central hub for the tower town if people want that. Currently the only way to get there is by swimming or boat, but I can put a teleporter waypoint there if people do want to build out that way. It is rather close to shore though, so if people would rather build further away, that's fine too. I can put a few guyots out in the ocean for people to build on. (Yay! My one year of geology studies comes in handy!)

Actually, Dragon and me also found a large body of water a bit further away. Again, the teleporter can be found at the Troll Lair, which is under SH4K's bridge.

Yay! Happy Minecraft Halloween. There was one mod I wanted to put on, the aptly named Halloween plugin, but it conflicted way too much with Multiverse and gave me so many errors I'm surprised it didn't crash outright. (Rule, that's why it suddenly borked).

Instead, I've implemented a different plugin. Not quite as awesome, but still fits with the whole Halloween thing. Hope you all enjoy! (*gets ready for barrages of requests to undo the plugin*)

Okay, I'm sure everyone is really excited about the release of Minecraft on Friday/Tomorrow (or... you know... not), so I'd like to get an idea of what people would like.

Would you like the server to be temporarily reset? That is, there'd be a new world, with the new stuff, no plugins at all, until the mods catch up, then the portal would be opened to the old worlds.

Or would you like it to remain as is? In order to play, you'd have to not update your game and miss out on all the fun stuff like Ender dragons until the mods got updated.

I'm partial to the temporary reset myself.

I'm gonna vote for the temp reset, mostly because I've done almost fuck all except for my cliff hanging house. Would we still have access to our current inventory if we went for the temp reset?

If I do it the easy way, no. If I try to find the inventory files, which may not even be possible, then maybe. I'll do a bit of searching around. Until then, I'd suggest people grab what they want from their boxes, in case I do manage to bring the inventories over.

I believe I have my diamond tools and spare diamonds to repair them so I have everything I need if we temp reset. Though I don't like the idea of potentially losing my inventory due to a temp reset.

Although this does seem to explain the matter a bit more, the uploader does say that he wasn't there to see it all for himself. To my knowledge neither side has any 'solid' proof on this matter, Yogscast are probably trying to save face by not responding to Notch's 'trolling' and make him look like the big mean bully, their next step is probably to upload a new video in which they cleverly try to sway the incident to their favor.

If Yogscast really did all those immature and unprofessional things that Notch claim they did then they don't have an excuse. Youtube and Minecon are different things, they're free to act in whatever way they want in their own channel (under Youtube's EULA), but in a public event with thousands of people they're obliged to follow standard public decency, something which they apparently "didn't give a fuck about".

However, I've also seen a bunch of sources frowning on Notch for some questionable behavior on his own in the past.
