Tesseract made me want to go back and revamp the farming recommendation for the thread over on Hongfire... so I did. Here it is. Make of it what you will. It is ever so slightly different from Tesseract's recommendations(really because we pulled from the same info). While mine is a little more definitive... with a 'do this or you are doing it wrong' feel to it.

Afk Farming: While these maps may not be the best they allow you to place your units and go afk without worry. Do the highest one you have access to.

• Pastoral Gate
• Tower Overwatch
• Dragon Hunting

Gold Farming: You should only be doing these maps after you are able to complete Castle Retake as experience is far more important than gold at this point. The first map requires that you sell the units that drop while the second is just the pure gold you receive from 3★ the map.

• Pastoral Gate
• Deep Forest Road

Note: While Pastoral Gate will give the most gold if all 5 units drop consistently, but on average doing Deep Forest Road and selling the units you receive from it will give more gold.

Experience Farming: Leveling yourself, your girls, and for those of you that keep them around to leer at your women... Your soldiers.

• Prince(You): Dragon Hunting
• Soldier: Return to Ruins
• Heavy Armor: Return to Ruins
• Valkyire: Return to Ruins
• Rogue: Return to Ruins
• Princess: Return to Ruins
• Bandit: Remnant Vanquish 1
• Archer: Return to Ruins
• Mage: Return to Ruins
• Healer: Return to Ruins
• Witch: Return to Ruins

Mutliclass Experince Farming: This provides more unit experience per charisma than above, but only when leveling multiple units of a specific class. Which in turn levels those two unit slower then focusing on them.

• Soldier and Archer: Pastoral Gate

Special Note: While not the best choice for a specific thing. When focusing on experience, gold, and unit experience. Remnant Vanquish 3 will allow you to do almost all of the above albeit slower. The price of being jack of all trades it seems. In terms of unit experience it will give you 4 less experience per charisma then the standard of Return to Ruins and Remnant Vanquish 1 in the case of bandits. While only giving you .1 less experience per charisma in regards to the prince and his standard of Dragon Hunting. In terms of gold per charisma it is 22.5 gold behind Deep Forest Road.

TL; DR Do Remnant Vanquish 3 if you are trying to level yourself, your units, and keep some gold in your pockets.

Affection Farming: This is just a choose which fairy you need the most.

• Silver: Low Cost Battle
• Gold: A Gigantic Enemy
• Platinum: Phalax 2
• Black: Low Cost Battle 3

Note: Phalax 2 drops both gold and platinum fairies, and Low Cost Battle 3 drops both gold and black fairies. If you need the higher rarity as well as gold run the higher rarities map.

So is this generally how you get stronger in this game? Progression isn't as obvious as in LoV.

I'm a day or two in, I'm now getting wrecked by most of the 20+ charisma missions, and combining units seems to have only a tiny overall effect on strength. Is there a 'fast' way to get stronger or is it just farm Pastoral Gate et al.?

Also can someone tell me where do you guys get the portraits of the characters?
wanna make a signature like yours Lafate (gonna add my own touch tough....(wich means ill screw up A FUCKING LOT!)

I get mine from the JP wiki and alter them as needed(Made all the circle things from scratch by messing around).

What was listed in that post is the fastest way there is(from my eyes). So if you are stuck on something before you can farm Return to Ruins run Pastoral Gate. Combining has a bigger impact then you think it does. You can use some of the free sacred crystals you can buy to purchase the 1.2 experience boost. This will allow your prince to rapidly level to refill your charisma. Which will allow you to farm more until you can beat what you are stuck at. However the issue could potentially be the strategy you are using and not the power behind your units.

Hmmm, it seems like I'll need a second CC'd healer if I want a chance at clearing the final map of this event. I have two Princesses to fight the Dragon Mages that show up, but the problem is one side always dies because it has two non-CC'd healers instead of one CC'd one not CC'd. Maybe I bring 5 healers and sub mid-combat it might work though.

Final mission is pretty brutal though if you aren't caught up with your CCs/Unit Variation/Levels. Gonna have to play catch-up to most players after this event ends to be ready for the next one with more CC'd units.

To get strong in this game mostly from:
1st: know your strategy, Location - deploy / withdraw timing - strenght of ur unit
2nd: understand which unit to lvl, without the proper unit strenght of coz there no way to make ur strategy work.
3rd: Brute strenght allllll theeee wayyyy..... get all those black unit and just watch them killing everything simple.
Here an example how ridicolous strong of black unit, reminder that that map is 1 of the highest top tier hardest map

in order to progress you need better units.
have you done the tutorial missions? they gave there an AWESOME character named Katie. most players use her on their teams.

also use pastoral to level your units to lvl 30

Mains should be
Heavy Armor (from one of Katie's misions)
Healer(alisa)
Daniela and Soma
Katie

with these five you should be able to do Tomb of sorrow wich is a good place to start farming for your Witches.

(the main map i used for leveling till yesterday wasTower overwatch and you can usually 50CC 3 characters from that map (and small runs of pastoral gate) alone)

Yeah, I usually start with Katie + another gold Soldier I got, and then try to get out HAs / archers / mages /1-2 healers soon as I can, but in the higher missions I just get swarmed too early. Everyone's level 10, so I probably just need to level a bunch more.

EDIT: Maybe not exactly swarmed, but trying to adapt to wolves / flyers / armored dudes / whatever all at once.

EDIT: Titles only affect the Prince? I should really be using the skill boost one...

If you're getting swarmed you probably need to add more mages to your group, or have units like rogues acting as "speed bumps" ahead of your main choke points.

I think people do over value black units though (even me), there are plenty of maps where you simply can not get them out due to their cost.
Thankfully it isn't a majority of them, but given that they are RARE, I think that evens it out. While powerful they are not with out their caveats.

anywaysnow you can focus on getting crystals for the next unit

also one of the greatest points in the game is the fact that you can actually finish all level with Silver units only (yes you dont need blacks at all)

Yes once awakened she can almost stop enemies including bosses dead in their tracks, her attack animation becomes overkill speed wise.

Yeah, besides the titles that improve his skill (Hero, Savior etc), they only affect Prince. Which is why the skill boosting titles are preferred and recommended, the other ones are only useful for specific maps.

Im jealous! Still more than half way to get her Would be very close if I didn't have to get Cyrus too ;/ And with bad luck on drops today... it seems so far away I hope they won't change trading post offer for at least 2 more thursdays. That will give me a chance to get her.

with how theyre managing events we have at least 2 thursdays to get her (im counting myself too)

Updates happen during Fridays (first one was a fluke but second event had nothing no reason to be delayed other than it was easier for them to do it at that time)
since we have yet to have a notice telling us about an inminent change it means that tomorrow (as its update day(wont be an update as we have all maps already) there wont be a change. however tomorrow there might be and advisory telling us about the change.

if so well have another week (meaning another thursday) to get her. it also coincides with the expected (by me) eastern update (wich will add samurais,Pirates and ninjas)

if there is no advisory tomorrow it means that after Aria's event there wont be another event (1 week rest) and that well have 3 weeks to get chidys
