As a wannabe game reviewer (and I stress "wannabe") I like to find out more about the creators of the various games I play. Getting into the mind of the creator often gives me more of an idea of what they are getting at. Well, after enjoying a few of the games that he has made (I do not by any means hate furrys) I see that he has a forum.
First warning light came up when I seen that you are required to register an account before seeing ANYTHING posted. "That's alright" I thought "Some sites have this so under age kids cant just waltz right in. I can dig it."
Second light blinked on when I looked at a few of the posts from his fans. They blindly follow him like lemmings off a cliff and rarely speak of other hentai other than the all mighty TP. I thought: "Meh, every game creator has fan boys. Though I cannot understand the logic behind most of them..."
The sirens started going off the moment I read one of Toonpimp's posts... more or less it was like this. "I intend on adding onto the game with more animations and more rooms, but keep in mind that this update will not happen unless more money shows up in my pay pall account." Shortly after I read a comment about the same game "I took two rooms out of the game with some extra content because I didn't feel like animating them. Same reason I did not add any sex attacks with Draculina, I did not feel like it" (Please note that these are not exact quotes, but a generalization of them.)
If you cannot guess why these sirens went off, here it is.... HE RELEASED A GAME THAT WAS NOT FINISHED BECAUSE OF HIS OWN LAZINESS, THEN EXPECTED HIS FANS TO PAY FOR A FREE GAME IN ORDER FOR IT TO BE FINISHED!!! Getting paid for ones work is not a terrible thing, in fact its a damn good thing... but I find out that he was planning on adding these features... then ditched the idea because he was lazy! Curse of Cracklevania was fun, but finding out that it was supposed to have even more content that was left out because the creator did not feel like it is like getting kicked squarely in the balls!
Now, lets think about this, maybe I'm being too rash... after all, game companies release a demo to get a player hooked and then they sell the game... its a tried and true process... That is fine. HOWEVER, what kind of game is this? A flash game that is fairly poorly put together, not a million dollar budget game that will be released on the Xbox 360 just in time for the holidays! Sure it has a lot of content, but it plays like a bucket of dirty soap suds. The hit detection is off, and the platforming element stinks like the north end of a south bound moose. But it is forgiven by the dirty content. Something that I would play, but not something I would pay for. If a company wanted me to pay for their content, it better be some damn good content!!!
(I know that the "Click button, Get results" style of game play goes against the whole game thing, but screw you... its very well done...
)
Now I should probably stop my rant before I reach ten paragraphs. In summery, I have lost respect for this creator because of his seemingly constant douchebaggery. I'm still gonna play the games, but it will be a cold day in hell before I pay for a "Free" game (I'll let the fan boys do that for me...) Let alone a half finished one. Of course, some companies can get away with such cheap tactics... such as releasing the same game year after year while eager fans line up to play.
