As a wannabe game reviewer (and I stress "wannabe") I like to find out more about the creators of the various games I play. Getting into the mind of the creator often gives me more of an idea of what they are getting at. Well, after enjoying a few of the games that he has made (I do not by any means hate furrys) I see that he has a forum.

First warning light came up when I seen that you are required to register an account before seeing ANYTHING posted. "That's alright" I thought "Some sites have this so under age kids cant just waltz right in. I can dig it."

Second light blinked on when I looked at a few of the posts from his fans. They blindly follow him like lemmings off a cliff and rarely speak of other hentai other than the all mighty TP. I thought: "Meh, every game creator has fan boys. Though I cannot understand the logic behind most of them..."

The sirens started going off the moment I read one of Toonpimp's posts... more or less it was like this. "I intend on adding onto the game with more animations and more rooms, but keep in mind that this update will not happen unless more money shows up in my pay pall account." Shortly after I read a comment about the same game "I took two rooms out of the game with some extra content because I didn't feel like animating them. Same reason I did not add any sex attacks with Draculina, I did not feel like it" (Please note that these are not exact quotes, but a generalization of them.)

If you cannot guess why these sirens went off, here it is.... HE RELEASED A GAME THAT WAS NOT FINISHED BECAUSE OF HIS OWN LAZINESS, THEN EXPECTED HIS FANS TO PAY FOR A FREE GAME IN ORDER FOR IT TO BE FINISHED!!! Getting paid for ones work is not a terrible thing, in fact its a damn good thing... but I find out that he was planning on adding these features... then ditched the idea because he was lazy! Curse of Cracklevania was fun, but finding out that it was supposed to have even more content that was left out because the creator did not feel like it is like getting kicked squarely in the balls!

Now, lets think about this, maybe I'm being too rash... after all, game companies release a demo to get a player hooked and then they sell the game... its a tried and true process... That is fine. HOWEVER, what kind of game is this? A flash game that is fairly poorly put together, not a million dollar budget game that will be released on the Xbox 360 just in time for the holidays! Sure it has a lot of content, but it plays like a bucket of dirty soap suds. The hit detection is off, and the platforming element stinks like the north end of a south bound moose. But it is forgiven by the dirty content. Something that I would play, but not something I would pay for. If a company wanted me to pay for their content, it better be some damn good content!!!

(I know that the "Click button, Get results" style of game play goes against the whole game thing, but screw you... its very well done...:))

Now I should probably stop my rant before I reach ten paragraphs. In summery, I have lost respect for this creator because of his seemingly constant douchebaggery. I'm still gonna play the games, but it will be a cold day in hell before I pay for a "Free" game (I'll let the fan boys do that for me...) Let alone a half finished one. Of course, some companies can get away with such cheap tactics... such as releasing the same game year after year while eager fans line up to play.

The picture links with the article are very useful and add to the humor, but I agree. At least attatch the full game, then ask for donations for the extended version, hmm?

I think he just got a bit too big of an ego when he started getting diehard fans. Unfortunately one of my best friends (internet friends, not IRL) is almost his second hand man. I believe he was the first moderator of the forums.

I like to add humor as I talk seriously. But yeah... I still enjoy the games. It just peeved me off that he is doing this. It would be alright if he asked for more money, but to just demand makes you sound like a dick. Maybe have a full, complete game (like you said) for free, but then have like a special edition that you would donate maybe a dollar for or something. (I have known many a game maker to do that and there was no complaints.)

And yeah... his fans are a bit... rabid... Which would explain his big ego. Nothing wrong with having fans, but one should never abuse them... for example, plan having people pay for fan made content in an very popular music based game...

((I'll stop that now, lol. But I am a bit ticked off at the fact that Activision plans on doing that... not in effect yet... but watch out!))

Re: Losing respect for Toonpimp

The problem is that he's done all his games for free so far. Of course it's quite upsetting to go from free content to paid content in the blink of an eye, but even more so when the paid content hasn't even been put in yet.

Now obviously his games aren't the best, but you have to admit that they're pretty nice for something you're not paying money for. What he SHOULD be asking for is donation money. You like his stuff? Toss a few bucks his way. That's the best solution to any financial needs he wants fulfilled, not a sudden PLZ PAY request.

What would be better for him though would probably be a Silver/Gold version or something along those lines; a lesser "Silver edition" might not contain all animations, sound, and may have no ending while the better "Gold edition" would have everything. Basically a demo version. If he became a bit less lazy with animations, that would work quite well.

I can stomach playing furry games, even though TP's artwork is crossing the line into dangerously furry, but my beef is that the game play is very unpolished. It's unlikely that I would pay to play anyway... (though I have been known to lay down plenty of cash at dlsite in the past) but he hasn't produced anything up to this point that looks finished - if I'm going to pay anything at all, I want to pay for a finished game.

That is pretty unprofessional to put your work out for others and not even have the zeal to complete it. Its different when you create version #.## of something, because you want to improve, or at least try to improve, your work for the better. But not completing your work and wanting money JUST TO COMPLETE IT is just greed and sloth talking.

**Personal Rant Start**

A unknown fact till now, I do writing for the Pokegirl Org site and have fun doing it. Though I would LOVE to see money out of my work, I'm sure as hell ain't gonna ask, much less demand money, for it.

TP forgot one of the most basic rules in both creating games and writing stories: You are only as good as the last game/story/chapter you put out for the public.

**Personal Rant End**

I lost respect the second I saw him try to get off political thoughts in a porn website, leave that to Nailin' Palin.

other things too, it's just kinda obnoxious.

Toonpimp? Meh. His games aren't even fun or erotic, in my opinion. How the hell are there people who follow him blindly? I can understand Linemarvel, for example, and how he has us because he actually has good games. But Toonpimp? I'm still having a hard time believing he has worshippers.

Dont believe it? Here is a direct quote following the demands of money:
"He he...! Couldn't of said it better myself!
Still, if any animator on the web deserves mo' moola, 'tis you good sir."

I am not making this up what so ever! Unlike the last ones, this is a DIRECT quote... copy paste was used...

Yeah... We should make fun of him for being lazy and not finishing a game.

It's not like any other Flash and/or other game maker we know!

Re: Losing respect for Toonpimp

Just feeling the need to comment, I suppose. The games are decent enough fare, but would I pay for them? Hell. No. One, rehashed animation (and halfassed at that). Now, I know that a goodly amount of work goes into drawing and animating games like this, but through all three of the games that I've played of his (Run, the stage one, and Cracklevania), you see the same critters, same "attacks," and what do you get for beating the game? A still-frame (or barely animated) shot and an excuse. Two, okay, so peg A goes into slot B, and sometimes peg C goes into hole D, but again...see above reason. Personally, I don't mind furries, to an extent. Rhona, I can handle. But that's not what turns me off from the games. So it's got the gangbang animations. It's not (how to put this...) Erotic. I've played games with furries that make me squidgie, so I know that's not the reason. I *love* JG and DG. I play other hentai games on other sites. TP's games, while having content, seem to lack a certain "substance" to them (a fapability factor, if you will), so yes, I can agree with the argument that they're not worth paying for, let alone *demanding* money over. As action platformers, they're pretty good...if you like jumping. As Hentai, not so much. I realize not everything can be polished and perfect and, as a writer, I understand how you think your "baby" *is* polished and perfect, but until the masses see it that way (and not a rabid loyal fanbase...or your friends and family), you haven't got the right to an ego, unless you're just an asshole to begin with.

LOL....I was gonna say something.....

But LM did what any good creator does when they aren't going to make a deadline for whatever the reason...he disappeared. Then he comes back a year later and everyone was so happy that he was alive...we weren't worried about MG.

Also, if memory serves, LM stated the reason that he didn't make his deadline was because his life basically went in the shitter suddenly.

He didn't go, "Pay me if you want MG." His stance was more, "Look, things happened. If I can find the time to finish it, I'll try." Personally, I think that is a far more responsible approach.

Re: Losing respect for Toonpimp

Actually, during the phase of "I'll have a free version and a paid version", I was all for buying the paid version. LM worked hard, unlike ToonPimp (I like his games, but I'm not paying for them).

As for the jab I made, it was mostly at me and other people who made PbPs, like... DTTRP... or Venta Kai Stories... or Jumpers... Or Ferton Falls... And near the end, even Archfiend's game whose name eludes me died.
