Re: Multiplayer Gaming

It's retarded. Mathematically, a backstab does at least 450 damage, and I've documented a case where at least a dead ringer spy survived at least 5 backstabs. (I say at least, not meaning there were more backstabs, but he was being fired on by other people, but as I dont know the damage they did, I don't include it.) This means the spy, a character with 125 hp, took at least 2251 damage to die. That's a little ridiculous.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

What's ridiculous is how the Backburner STILL has less range than the Spy's backstab. Oh, we promise 100% crits for you, Pyro!... But only if the fucking planets line up in 20 different galaxies simultaneously! *GabeNewelltrollface*

You shouldn't be using that piece of shit in the first place.

All at the cost of not being able to cloak at will, thus removing the best way for a spy to infiltrate and do his job  (< how is that a gasp?!)

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

Spies still need some kind of ranged sapper like they showed him slide along in meet the spy just so they don't have to get in wrench spam range. Fuck you wrench......

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

It's amazing how very OP the regular spywatch has become. Nobody expects it anymore, you can move at any speed, pick up ammo, and people are so used to the DR that you can uncloak right behind people, hugging their back, and they won't notice.

And then you can just cloak again and walk off, take his weapon for cloak ammo, and move to the next victim, I've switched back, and honestly, the original watch turned into easy mode, if you even get spotted people will keep shooting the area near you for CnD spies, while you have moved to the other side of the map already.

Ranged sapper would be nice...Maybe the second set of unlocks gets a ranged sapper, along with a useful flamethrower side-grade and scout unlocks that can actually be used without laughing at yourself.(The ideas behind the ones that exist now are good, but are implemented somewhat bad)

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

I honestly think they need to return a lot of the unlocks back to their original states. Because of the changes they've made with crits and removing the HP bonus, the Backburner is pretty much a paperweight. The Sandman, once a good weapon, was abused by unskilled spammers so much that tourneyfags bitched (CRIED SOME MORE) about it until it was made into a foam bat. The Kritzkrieg was something that worked better in theory to begin with, and became a useless piece of junk once the crit system was updated.

When it comes to the new unlocks, it's just as bad. Jarate continues to be spammed endlessly by fucking GROUPS of Snipers akin to the balcony wars on 2Fort, the Huntsman has a hitbox the size of Gabe Newell himself, and the Dead Ringer is quickly become the cheap, mostly unskilled method of playing the Spy.

I just...urg. They really need to do an overhaul to the old weapons. It's become pretty clear that most of them don't mix well with the styles of gameplay brought on with the new items and crit system.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

Yeah, I have no intension of changing from the regular spywatch.

I got TF2 yesturday, and have been working hard to not suck as a spah. I think I've acheieved "almost don't suck and sometimes has some nasty successes"; most of my games are a festival of me dying repetivly with one or two gems where I really fuck some people up.

Already unlocked the ambassador and the cloak and dagger.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

Regular spywatch is amazing, but I usually cloak defensively, hence me using the CnD to stay in one spot.

A LOT of the new achievments are broken.
And here's something I never thought about until now. I still don't have foul territory. And now with this retarded nerf, that means I have to bonk someone, and then have them run off a cliff or something. It's such shit. Every class, I use at least 2 unlockable weapons for, and the scout, I have none, cuz he sucks.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

The scout doesn't suck. My theory is that since the scout is the most powerful class in the game, Valve intentionally ruined the fuck out of his unlocks to balance him out. Also,

hence me using the CnD to stay in one spot
At first, I was like

but then I was like

@Archer: there are some servers that support fancy bonuses to weapons. For example, on an Orange server I used to frequent, you could equip the ability to toss a sapper which disabled all buildings within a 10 foot radius or something for 10 seconds. It was really nice, but I wish it was officially implemented.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

They indeed nerfed the dead ringer.

Reduced the cloak time from 8 to 4 seconds. Making it fucking useless.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

I don't play zee spah much anymore, so I wasn't aware. Wonderful. So now you either have a four second cloak or you sit around for half of the match. gg valve. Back to the invis-

I JUST FUCKING GOT IT. Don't you see!? All of these nerfs! Valve is trying to make people go vanilla. I've already gone vanilla scout and vanilla spy. It's only a matter of time before they make the Equalizer cause your dick to fall off and make the Ubersaw negate 150 hp.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

In all fairness, I have a lot of fun playing hide and seek with CnD spies. You get an entire server full, fuck with the team balance limit, and have pyros looking for spies.

There's an actual game mod for that, I know there are at least 3 servers with it running. To balance out flame spam, pyros take health damage when shooting fire, but not when using meelee. This way there is barely any spam.

I'm using at least 1 unlock for every class, except scout. Scout unlocks are just..."What the hell was that crap?" As the scout would say. Second to scout for useless unlocks would be the heavy, A gun that slows people, but takes away damage(Heavy is known for high damage at close range...) a sandvich(Actually not bad), and gloves that you never get to use because you're too slow.

As for the kritzkrieg, it's not that bad, charges faster and can get most things done with any class, if they know what they're doing. And since this is an online game, they probably don't.

Therein lies...

I like the spam, they have to run out of ammo at some point, but more fire means your spot or running around has to be better.

I agree with the heavy. Sandvich I've almost never had to use. The boxing gloves are somewhat useless, unless you like parking yourself right around busy corners, so you can kill, get the buff and turn the corner with your gun. But either way, boxing gloves over fists almost always. Nastacha is the perfect example of how I thought most unlockables would be. I thought everything would be pretty much the same, with varying benefits and detriments here and there, not these completely abstract, out-of-nowhere, have to be fixed 1000 times later, related-achievement broken, shit

Achievement: I HURT PEOPLE
After using Bonk! Atomic Punch, kill two medics who are fully charged with two shots from the Force-a-Nature,
after using the Sandman to stun the heavy they were healing

Think of it as a 'Badge of Honor', something to handicap yourself with because you're just so damn good.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

Heh, the achievements seem like they're made to pop up after you've done something random... I mean, what are the chances of doing that whilst trying to get the achievement?

Seems like they're used to encourage people to do random things.
