I hope this is a justifiable rebuttal to the -rep, Sin.

Not at all seeing as if you get pulled over for smoking weed, even for medicinal reasons, you're now driving intoxicated. So you're still bashing on the police for doing their job, and it's not like they can simply look at someone and instantly know that they're a medicinal user, especially if they got pulled over for it.

I'm just tired of everyone running around yelling "fuck the police" because they want to just do whatever they want. The common retort to this is that there are corrupt cops, well yes there are, but there are also honest cops. And there are still people out there that will happily break into your house and rape your family if it weren't for the prospect that jail sucks.

Honestly, I prefer kids over most adults. (har har har...)

They're easy to get along with, don't have hidden agendas, and live comparatively simple lives in small but highly imaginative worlds. If one is being a little ass, it's normally easy to set them straight.

The older they get, the more complex they get and the more problems they have. Adults are only kids that have been weathered down by the harshness of reality. I miss the innocent and naive world I used to have where everything was awesome and simple.

Plus kids say some awesome stuff sometimes...

I've only had 4 days back after having 3 weeks off unpaid.

This is not good.

edit:

Yesterday, I get another 2 unpaid days off work because things are disorganised; again, not my bosses fault. Then I find out Damos is moving out soon, meaning 2 people are now moving out in the next month, meaning I need to find 2 people who are willing to live in this hole of a house. Then today, the landlord informed us that the rent is going up by almost $100 a month. So... I'm thinking it's time to find a new place considering there are cheaper and better places out there; the only thing this place has going for it is being really close to work and public transport.

Of course, it's a massive pain the ass but I'm sick of being screwed about with all of this.

Sometimes I wonder how people's mental capacities can drop down so low in virtual worlds (beyond Gaben's Theory of Internet Douchbaggery, which fits more to ye old micspammer kinda behaviour)

Case in point: In Second Life (not telling names due to trying to avoid preasuring people with personas they dun know) I'm bunked in, so to speak, with a pairsome in the corner of a space roleplaying sim that one of them is the moderator of.

About a year ago I ran into a game called Assassin's Grid as well running around SL. I got into it a little, never really grouped up with someone, and eventually abandoned it.

This morning, in a fit of my 'need to kill crap' stupor I decided to get it on again. Managing to be on at the same time the creator was on, I not only got all my stuff upgraded and a rundown of the changes (the one pretaining to the story being that, instead of just 1 sim needing to be captured in this land grab style, it's devided into 16 'sectors' which can be grabbed individually), I even got a piece of booster equipment that usually costs about 500 Linden for free.

Admittedly, forgoing my usual pessimistic nature going back in, I probably shoulda seen at least a portion of what came after coming.

In order to work with no-rez land (where bullets won't spawn when fired from standard guns) and to keep lag down, the system uses avatar scanning to track avatars in order to cause damage. however, this also means it'll allow players to shoot through ceilings, floors and walls.

I almost get done capturing it all when I start getting shot from people, who, being lead from the text of me starting a conquesting, come to stop it and get a level off my death. After the third time, I get annoyed and complain in group chat about people 'not having battlefiend honor of being able to see thier targets'

I was almost immediately shot down for even suggesting proper fighting ettiquette, told that 'proper ettiquette' was for sissies and if it's possible, the system was meant to shoot through walls (which I dunno if it's that or SL limitations with avatar scanning). Basicly, I was told to shut my trap and take the bullets.

After about the fifth person, I gave up and took the meter off. About ten minutes AFTER taking the meter off, people were still showing up on our parcel and bugging us, so one of the two parcel owners/the people letting me stay with em put up a invis object which said in no uncertain terms that 'Anyone using Assassin's Grid on the premises will be ejected by whoever is in charge at the current time.

A person who was there when she put it up basicly went ballistic, constantly harrassing us afterwards, using some of the worst text speak I ever heard, then basicly got into the home hanger and preceded to attack the ingame land to craptasmland with molotovs and grenades (the siege weaponry so it'd register land damage), screaming she was gonna force me to retire and she'd force me to quit.

I just quietly logged the chat logs and sent them to the game creator/admin that talked to me earlier, meanwhile wondering just what the crap got me into this mess.

Seriously, how low can people devolve?

It's happened so many times I think I've successfuly felt the emotion a woman would when creepy people won't stop talking to them, or nearly so.

It happens. Not always, but there's always a few creepers out there who just can't handle a female in their game without letting their dick take full control. Even if the player is just a female avatar for whatever reason (some pretending to be women, some making a female character for a role player, some wanting to look at a female avatar, and in some games because their favorite character class only comes in female variety), there will be these creepy guys that just start hitting on them.

Well, I was refering a bit to RL too. Not like I've ever been to a club or anything, and I wouldn't dare imply I know how bad it can get, obviously, but the annoyance was a real eye opener, let's put it that way.

Hypothetical. The "street" (I guess you could say street, I am forced to live between both worlds and translate) definition of being "pulled over" can mean any compromising, embarrassing, or uncomfortable situation involving anyone, not just the police and not including the DWB offense I get pulled over for every so often, usually followed by the predictable "I smell marijuana" although nothing is lit nor has been, in the vehicle or in my home prior to driving. (cuz I'm so pro)

Hell, In the hood (I swear it's a crazy place, yall should come visit and we could chill an have drinks!!), even your girl can pull you over if you get caught with your eyes lingering a bit in a way that displeases her -- and usually nine out of ten your car is in the ditch from arousing her ire!!

So yea Sin I'm not saying "fuck the police," but I do got some shoes for sale, no better yet MILITARY COMBAT BOOTS that I earned serving this country if you'd care to wear them (assuming you feel I'm being on the level with you and they're not stolen, because us black anarchist police bashers love to beat people up and steal shoes... and bicycles, right?). But until then I feel I've got some say in the matter too, seeing as how your sorry asses wouldn't be here, or able to read this in THIS language, and you'd all be wearing turbans right about now if it weren't for our great nation's military.

However, to be fair in all things, there IS dichotomy. I mean to say that there's always a flip side to everything, so to speak. So I'm now officially unemployed.

The saga from the beginning started about a month and a half ago, when the company I work for's major contract announced that they weren't going to renew the contract, opting to take it overseas where they can pay people significantly less for a significantly less well job done. Their stupid business strategy, not ours.

Now, we still had work until the end of June by the very contract they're not renewing. But they stopped sending calls to us. We get paid based on how many calls we take; if they don't send us calls, we don't get paid. We went through about 2-3 weeks of less and less calls coming through to us, the final week of which we were averaging 1 call an hour each and getting sent home after a few hours because we, the staff, are paid hourly while the centre is paid per call; they simply couldn't afford to keep us on.

Finally, we were sent on a 3 week unpaid break because there was no work for us, but were told we'd have work at the end of April. Sure enough, on the very Wednesday they asked us to come back, we began training for a new job roll; working in account administration for their business accounts. The first two days rolled by at a usual training pace, but things started to show wrong on the friday, when we spent the entire day reviewing the stuff we'd done to death on thursday, because we didn't have the access we needed to do the one part of our job we were missing.

Monday was noticeably worse, and people were clearly beginning to get worried, as we repeated Friday's activities. Late Monday, we were told that we still hadn't been sent the access codes we needed in order to actually do the job; which were now over a week late and my company had been told they'd arrive on Thursday now. (A.k.a today)

So, two more unpaid days later, we get into work once again. Around half an hour of standing around chatting near our desks before we're seperated into two groups (being fulltime and casual employees; basically casual employees can be fired more easily. I am still Casual because I haven't been there long enough) At this point, we're all pretty certain news is not good.

Once again, our client the Telco has not produced the essential login codes for us to do the job that they totally want us to do for them, apparently. Now, they're saying it'll be there on Monday. The boss of my centre, however, is not so optimistic. And so all casual employees, and even some fulltimers apparently, have been laid off until they actually have work for us. As per law, I'll get paid for 3 hours of today because I turned up but after an hour of being at work today I was asked to hand in my passcard, my security token and my headset. Assuming that this business accounts job never actually comes through, it'll be somewhere between 4-8 weeks before they get new campaigns in at which point they said they'll call us to re-hire; which I do genuinely believe because I can see they've fought to try and keep us employed. A lot of others have been outright fired during all this turmoil and chaos.

But yes. Unemployed.

Now, you may or may not recall, I need to find a new house to live in. Obviously, this lack of employment makes it all the more difficult to do so, although I do have sufficient savings to last me a while so hopefully potential landlords are willing to overlook things. Heck, technically I've still got a casual bar job, so that's something I guess. But still, I'm up shit creek right now; I just happen to have a paddle.
