Re: Mature Quest - v1.01 released
Ay-ay-ay. Okay, I'm back and I'm going to start looking into everything. First of all let me just say thanks to everyone for the support and gratitude. And now let's get to business.
So first thing is I want to clear up some confusion about the version. You don't have to go find version 1.01 of the game. 1.01 is just my patch's version. It's gonna keep going up as I implement more fixes and release new versions, it's not meant to correspond to the game version.
Second, the unbreakable wall in the ghost ship. Fixed that real quick, no problem. Let me know if there are any other unbreakable walls/unopenable doors, and if anyone's familiar with the Japanese version of the game, let me know if you run into any skeletons that you can't reanimate with holy water that you're supposed to be able to (or if they reanimate without even using the water). I know I got the trigger for the one in the mirror tower but I can't remember if there was another skeleton that you can use holy water on like that which I missed.
Third, has anyone actually cleared the game yet? Just want to know if I missed anything game-breaking besides the previously mentioned wall.
I think you described exaaactly the error I am getting.
Here's a pic.
Yes, the error says it can't find the audio file. Your problem is that the text of the audio (and probably graphic) files is all a garbled mess. You need to redownload and extract the game with Japanese language support, and if you already have it, find a new DL source because the one you got it from is fucked beyond repair.
Already did everything at the brothel, including dancing and fucking. I'm at 70k, like I said.
The arena isn't open, tho. Do I need to trigger some event before it opens or...?
EDIT: Aight, figured it out. Had to wait for Bootara and Gootara to rob the house in the bottom left, after which the Arena is accessible.
This is the trickiest part in the game IMO and I got stumped on it too in the Japanese version. Hell, I got stumped just trying to figure out what events activated it when I was translating. (because I like to do it sequentially to keep the plot consistent and lord is Mature Quest a fucking mess in the project editor) Glad you got it though.
So i went to the side closest to the wall of the sleeping solder and the innkeeper appeared. Got past the bug. Also i might recommend saving before tempting the guard underground. Got a game breaking bug after tempting him.
What sort of game-breaking bug? Was it just a crash or did the very fabric of the game begin to unravel before your eyes?
I'm stuck at the 9th village. I'm supposed to sleep at the inn, but the game crash when i'm talking to the (empty) slot where the innkeeper is supposed to be. And I can't sleep there in another way.
Same error than previously.
For science, I tried with a unpatched version, and I have the same error.
Edit: Resolved. You can make the innkeeper pop by talking to everybody in town.
Yes, the innkeeper isn't supposed to appear until you talk to I think it was 7 villagers, because the player isn't supposed to advance the story until they have the full picture on what's going on in Hatahata. Actually talking to the empty space where the innkeeper will appear, on the other hand, should
not be doing anything--no invisible NPCs should. If I had to guess it might be because of some weird bug with RPG Maker VX's counter tiles (tiles you can set to trigger events situated on the other side of them), but regardless, I'll look into these reports and see what I come up with.
@u-ray: Can you please update the Translation to 1.11 as it has more stuff like a House on the map near the beginning town
As for upgrading to the 1.11 version of the game, unfortunately it's not as easy as just putting the translated stuff into it, because it overwrites everything by doing so, thus erasing the new additions.
What I can do is say, if you know of something present in 1.11 that isn't in the translation version, such as this house you speak of, tell me about it and I'll see about putting it in manually. And also that I won't make such a dumb mistake again so ples forgiv
Everyone else that I didn't address, I went through the thread and put a list together of all the bugs and I'm going to look into them. Thankfully it seems mostly limited to just a handful of lines which I missed and need to translate and this problem with invisible dudes, but I promise to try to cure what ails you. So far as Mature Quest is concerned anyway.
