I had a slight memory of some drama... As far as I remember, it was round one that was butthurt over anything that could be seen as critizism, and then round number too, very few people responded. Or something. I remember thinking it was immature, and then drifting on over to the hentai section.

Naturally, everyone except for dark, who actually spoke to me about this at the time, is completely wrong.

It was the almost complete lack of constructive criticism that did it, with many people simply stating they didn't like it, with one outright saying they needent listen because regardless it'd be muted to ensure it wouldn't cover up certain sound effects, the audio equivalent of posting tl;dr.

Those who actually did provide something constructive were listened to, but i decided that i wasn't going to spend time writing free music for a bunch of ungrateful little shits. Are we clear on this now?

All I remember is that it was funny to watch him squirm in his sense of self-entitlement. You can see what I mean when he uses phrases like, 'ungrateful little shits', as if his elevator music was something even worth mentioning.

No guys, we did this once already. I don't know if it's twelve pages back or twenty, but if you want to see how this conversation's going to unfold go back and read it there because it'll be exactly the goddamn same. There's nothing to be gained by playing this out.

The argument actually started back on page 16. I'm surprised it was that long ago.

It happens now and again. Generally I just ignore this sort of thing, but there's no need to have the same fight twice over something so long past.

Come on guys, let's not give Darkfire another reason to shut the thread down.

As for the music, I still have the file myself, I kept it saved in case it was ever used or upgraded. IIRC, the complaint made by some was that the melody sounded very similar to "What do you do with a drunken sailor" (pirate song). It wasn't a bad song by any stretch, but it would have needed a certain amount of tweaking here or there to better match the jungle roving of the game.

I would have liked to see more music, but...well we all know how that one turned out.

The suffering of another person is delicious to me. Also, I wasn't stating that we SHOULD continue this argument, I was merely giving an example of why it COULD continue. I don't really care either way if it continues or not.

I was replying to someone else who was talking about why we shouldn't drudge up the old argument about the music Incubus submitted originally. It was JG related by extension of leaving a JG music discussion alone.

Chaos...? Mayhem..? General sense of discorded populace? Shoulda just kept my trap shut...

Regardless... The game is still without music in it's current status...

The reasonings behind why can be curryed to whatever reasonings are to your liking...

Personally I think it was a cross of grasping for compliments, and then Hurt Pride that finally killed it...

Which would kinda explain the obvious butthurt Inky was raging at when this whole side discussion began

I answered a question in a way that I thought the answer was right...

But what I'm told as truth doesn't match up... If it was total lack of ANY feedback, than whats this bussiness with "What would you do with a Drunken Sailor"?

I'd call that feedback, usable feedback even... Just not the type Inky wanted... Asking for critics but expecting cookies much?

Maybe I'm wrong... But it seems to me that Wonderboy's hit it on the head too...

Just like people to "Not give a shit" after having been asked there opinion on something... Only to have there heads bit off for it... I know I'm more hesitant to answer when a persons bitching to me that they "Didn't appreciate my Commentary"

I'd say it WAS a matter of hurt pride that killed the current soundtrack, not "Ungratefull Little Shits"... People leap at any possibility for an inkling of an update to this... So maybe Inky needs to wipe off some of that smug layer of greasey ass sarcasim, and think about that for a bit...

Just a suggestion...

Now excuse me... My cat's got a suicide bomber at clawpoint... I think I better move them outside the house...
