I for one have been greatly appreciative of the translation work you have already put into the game, as acknowledged by the game author in the most recent readme file. It makes the game a lot more enjoyable than fumbling around with a text hooked machine translation was previously.
Personally, I find that the vast majority of machine translations released as a patch/language option to be worse than running a text hooker, since with a machine translated patch installed, I can't see the original japanese to correct any obviously mistranslated or incorrect context lines, unless there's a quick method to change between the machine translation and the original japanese.
Is a machine translated patch/language option better than nothing? Perhaps in some cases, but I'd rather have a working and reliable text hooking method. Whatever I get through translation aggregator or ATLAS is more or less the same standard as most machine translation patches and I have the benefit of seeing the original japanese text immediately to better spot obvious mistranslations.
bobbob's statement about having the original japanese available to seems more applicable to the text hooker method of translation, since the original japanese is right there, as opposed to running with a machine translated patch. Unless bobbob is suggesting people run two instances of the game at once, one with and one without the machine translation patch active?
And in addition, for this game the author has gone to the effort, as of the latest version with the assistance of people such as Memory, to provide an editable csv file that contains all the text of the game and acts as a translation dictonary for the game which can be used to insert said translations into the game. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't do the same for the upcoming violence edition, so if anyone really wants to play the game with machine translation inserted before a cleaned up human translation is made, they can run the contents of the csv file through a machine translator and put the result into the provided folder to be inserted into the game automatically.
Personally I hope Memory and others continue to work on the molestation edition and in the future the violence edition.
