What's new

Re: Hate Thread

I hate whatever movie I'm watching now. Don't know it's name. Flatmate just put it on a while ago. It's got mysterious mist rolling in, and trapping people in a store, with various monsters outside. A disaster survival type thing. It's not the concept of the movie that I dislike, but the characters and their reactions to everything annoy me to no end. Also that I've been able to predict just about every sodding thing that's happened. I've been face palming and staring in disbelief the whole way through.

Probably the mist. I havn't seen the movie, but the short story was a favorite for a long time, and one of the main inspirations for the Half-Life series.

Sounds like the Mist indeed. I enjoyed it, not everyone else did.

Re: Hate Thread

Well kudos to it for sure for helping inspire Half-life then.

To say hate would be overly harsh really, but this threads the closest I had. Besides the odd bit of dodgy acting, there were just too many bits I couldn't take seriously or bugged me. Like the guy who stopped and screamed at one of the spiders for 2-3 seconds straight before deciding to do something. How the group turned into psychopathic murderers in little more than a day. How the main characters just let the crazy bitch spew literal nonsense at the private without speaking a word to try and back him up before the woman riled the crowd up so much. How the mist just got magically pushed back at the end. And the general speed and nature of everyone's reactions in the film just seemed off to me.

In it's favour, I very much liked that the film didn't rely on near pitch black scenes or seizuring camera men to make the monsters work like so many others. Most of the time you could see quite plainly what was going on without any cheep tricks.

I might enjoy the book, but the movie smelt too much of Hollywood for me. And I can be fussy sometimes. ^_^'

Re: Hate Thread

Sounds like either the Mist, which has already been mentioned, or Phantoms, which I recall people being stuck in a store in that one, too. Also based off of a horror book (Same title, Dean Koontz.)

If it's got Ben Affleck and Liev Shriver, it's Phantoms. If it's got the crappy little twist "Oh my god I can't believe it. Son of a bitch. It FIGURES!" ending, then it's the Mist. *laughs*

I hate how my friend bitches at me for ignoring her/our game for 5 minutes when I'm trying to have fun and do internet stuff but she can disappear for 20 minutes at a time and I'm not allowed to say anything about it.

Re: Hate Thread

phantoms was the bomb yo

Re: Hate Thread

Am I the only one who didn't hate The Mist's ending?

Re: Hate Thread

I didn't actually see the movie, I just loved the original.

Re: Hate Thread

Fuck this PubMix shit.
Its so delicious that I can BARELY stop myself from eating it sometimes.
If I don't, then it'll end up being all I eat all damn day and I wont get anything out of it. I'm just filling up with bread, and I end up feeling like shit.

But... so... TASTY!

Re: Hate Thread

I hate that grooveshark keeps freezing. I also hate that Firefox has changed the way it marks misspelled words.

Re: Hate Thread

I hate that my games on the 360 keep glitching up lately. And I don't mean when I'm doing something I technically shouldn't be doing, like driving the Mako in ME 1 into places I shouldn't.
I mean like in Bioshock, my powers/bullets will pass through enemies, and yet have no effect/do no damage - although this isn't exactly a new glitch for me. It just seems to be happening more often lately.
Or like in Castlevania: SoTN, the Discus Lord will disappear until I load up a saved game... and sometimes Alucard will disappear if I run through where the Discus Lord was.

Re: Hate Thread

My booklist wouldn't print because my account locked because of charges. So I run up there, apparently I owed $0.23 for processing because my account had been paid off late. It was only late because it arrived July 3rd, due on July 6th, and there was little no no mail service between those two times.

Oh, and I still can't get the damn contact in my eye!

Re: Hate Thread

Meh, that's enough of that joke, I'm changing back. Perhaps in time, there will be a day where we can all wear swastika's without issue. I of course mean because the taboo might have been put behind us or something, not because of a second Nazi rise to power or anything like that.

In other news, I hate dumbass moths that think my saucepan meat sauce for the bolognaise I'm cooking looks like a good place to dive bomb. This is the second time a moth has flew into my cooking this month. And I don't mean landed on the side and slipped in, I mean full out high speed dive bombing head first. Whatever happened to survival instinct? I just don't get it. It's not even a gas cooker or anything, it's electric, there's no flame!

Re: Hate Thread

So, did it make a splash?
Maybe if it starts happening often enough... well, FIRST you should get bug-zappers or something to deal with it. THEN, if it persists, get little score cards and rate the splash.
