There is something obvious that I'm missing: I know that you can heal with food or potions in the menu, but I don't see how to heal when you have your sword out and can't access the menu. One unhealable life bar isn't cutting it against bosses.

It is for the same reason that you criticise them. They're older games, which happened to feature innovations that have since become more commonplace precisely because those features were popular.

Sorry for bringing this old game up, but there is something that bothers me about the ending CG: I've seen hcg's of this game, and there seems to be one set for each trap enemy. But when I try losing to that trap, it just brings me to the gangbang-by-combatants, NOT to that trap's defeat HCG...

I think we should look to the game release before criticizing the amount of content, because by definition a demo does not have the full content.

That's more a side effect of that not being a game in which you were meant to get raped, pick yourself up, and drive on. Instead, being raped meant a bad end was eventually coming, so there was no point to progressive corruption. Since this story is of a character that's a virgin in a LATER...
