Re: Hate Thread

I hate how the Love thread is competing with this one.

That's not quite the point, I think. I have to confess, I've certainly encouraged people to post in the love thread instead of the hate thread. Competition, however, is not the reason I started the thread, nor is it the reason that it's gotten almost 350 posts in less than two weeks.

I started out just wanting to start something positive, and I do agree with Burt Bacharach about "What the World Needs Now." There's too much hatred in the world and I think people let themselves see the negative SO often that they miss sight of all the good things in their life.

There's a time and a place for hatred, otherwise it wouldn't exist. Then again it's more important (and FAR more enjoyable) to spend time living with what you love than it is to spew bile at those you hate. Captain Ahab would be an extreme example, but I think a relevant one.

Anyway, to the "Hate Thread" supporters that feel like we're just out to compete with them:

I love healthy competition. I love the Love Thread, and I've got love for all of you, even the most hateful haters among ya. I don't have a problem with you hating what you hate, especially since saying it out in the open tends to help people deal with their emotions in more mature ways. I just think we need to focus more on what we love than what we hate, and if that means we differ in opinion, so be it. I still love ya.

(note: I just copypasta'd this from the Love Thread, since it deals with both of them.)

P.S. Sorry if I sound preachy or anything, I don't mean to be.

Wrong thread. GTFO.

RAAAAAAAAAWR!!! THE WORD LOVE IS NOT PERMITTED IN THIS TOPIC, BITCH.

And it was just a joke. Normally I would read that, but seeing as how it's most likely written as if I was serious about a competition, I'll put it aside.

Now, the Countdown from 1,000,000 thread and the Last Post Wins thread... That there is a competition. For me anyway.

Re: Hate Thread

GAR I HATE PREACHES

Re: Hate Thread

You know what? I hate the fact that people feel that love is needed in someone's life to make them feel 'whole'. Fuck love, I'll take a tall, cold glass of pessimistic hate anyday. At least you know where you stand with hate. With love you dont know when it's going to be turned around on you and the shit's going to hit the fan. Hate is the way to go, I say.

Re: Hate Thread

People are always going to say that there's no way anybody could survive without companionship. They've obviously never met people of our perverted caliber.

I'd be perfectly content living the rest of my life without love.

Re: Hate Thread

Disagree to so many degrees. The argument is interchangeable (unless, of course, you're talking about the social definition of love, as applied to a traditional romantic partner**) The same way that you don't know when someone you hate gains respect, then love, in your eyes.
The reason I love hate so much is because it's such a relative scale that you almost can't put any type of value on your levels of love without really knowing hate. I don't just hate people, and I know some of you are with me on this, but you try to get people to hate you sometimes. It doesn't have to be someone you know, just a temptation to make a total stranger think you're a jackass. You try to make them hate you, even in the tiniest of ways, because it reflects the exact opposite extreme and "puts it all into perspective" so to speak

**point to be made later

Re: Hate Thread

I hate that having multiple partners/wives is looked down upon.

I think I could love multiple women and actually MEAN it :D

Re: Hate Thread

I do love multiple women and mean it, so I can't really object to that.

Re: Hate Thread

Yeah, 'cuz, seriously, I HATE when people say 'Well you can only truly love one person.'
BULLSHIT.
'Oh, you just don't know the difference between -love- and -lust-.'

DOUBLE BULLSHIT.

When a man or a woman loves more than one partner, they AUTOMATICALLY get labeled as a slut/whore.

And yes, I've been re-reading some of Marjorie's works lately, like 'Poppin's Return' :p

Re: Hate Thread

Next time they say that, ask them if they love their mom, sister, whatever. When they stop to ponder that start calling them a sicko and ask how they like it.

Re: Hate Thread

i'm a fan of the multiple loves, but you can only date or marry one person. its a commitment to that person that you will be with them over others, not something you can have more than one of.

Re: Hate Thread

Wow I missed that show... or at least one of them

Re: Hate Thread

*ahem*

To modify a phrase I once uttered:
I HATE HOW THEY KEEP MILKING SONIC. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, IT'S DEAD. YOU DON'T MILK DEAD COWS, IT'S CREEPY YOU ASSFUCKS.

Sonic Unleashed needs to be erased from history.

At the very least it's JUST Sonic this time. That's about the ONLY thing they got right.

Re: Hate Thread

I hate rings. Except the one that just came in the mail. That one's cool.

Re: Hate Thread

I hate earrings. Normal rings are alright, but I don't get the deal with earrings... it's just creepy.

Re: Hate Thread

Depends on the earrings, I guess. And who's wearing them. I once saw a woman with a nose ring. It made her look like a bull. It was not pretty.

Can I say I hate people that try to go shopping on Christmas Eve and show up at the store 45 minutes after you've closed and stare at you while you're LOCKING THE DOOR like they don't believe you when you say "We closed at SEVEN!" Or people that ask if you're open on Christmas? Geeze. I know not everyone in the world is Christian, but it is a major holiday in the United States and why on earth would a BOOKSTORE be open anyway? A restaurant or recreational facility (like the theater) I can see, but not a bookstore. There are 362 other days in the year we are open. You can buy your book then. Until then, sod off and Merry Christmas!

Re: Hate Thread

I hate you, Mass Effect! How can you do this to me? Lure me in with your promises of epic storytelling and deep character relationships, getting rave reviews all along - AND NOW YOU WON'T EVEN START! HOW CAN YOU BE SUCH A COCK TEASE? I WANTED TO PLAY YOU SO BAD!
AND BIOWARE ISN'T DOING SQUAT! THE ERROR HAS BEEN THERE SINCE JUNE! JUNE! AND THEY HAVE RELEASED ONE PATCH THAT DOESN'T EVEN TOUCH ON THIS ISSUE, MUCH LESS ON THE RECURRING FREEZES! I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THE INSTANT THAT I SAW THE EA LOGO THAT THIS IS NOT GOING TO WORK!

*breaks down and cries, all the time screaming HAET on top of his lungs*

Re: Hate Thread

I hate when bad things happen on Christmas. I've got a black eye because my cousins ex showed up despite a restraining order. He tried to hit her because he's an ass, luckily I blocked it with my face and she didn't get hurt. Also I spent all day at the hospital because my mom has pneumonia bad. On the bright side things couldn't get much worse.
