Choice is 3: Work your way into the group
Katie lifted her backpack onto her shoulder and entered the inn after the other adventures, she tries to sound friendly as she greets them, noticing that there was a total of four of them, two girls, and two guys.
A taller, older looking male and a what looks like the youngest female of the group seem to notice her and wave back to her, however, the other two, the younger looking male and a female about the same age as Katie seem to be a little suspicious of her. The man introduces himself, he is part of a larger city adventure's guild, and his name is Robert. The younger girl introduces herself as Annie, and the other two simply walk off without introductions.
Katie smiles, "So, you guys heading for the castle too?" she set her backpack down, knowing if she's careful, she would be able to possibly get free board.
Robert nods, "Yeah, our guild's surveyors confirmed that there was something of important in the castle worth going for..."
Katie looks up, this was interesting, "Huh? What is it?"
Robert laughs softly, "I'm sorry, I can't tell you, very privvy information..."
Katie nods, "Yeah, I understand it's fine." she sighs and pretends to pick up her bag to leave,
Robert stops her, "Hey, aren't you going to get a room for tonight?"
She shrugs as she looks at him, "I don't have the money, the guild I work for is really small after all."
Robert laughs, "Ah, I see, well, feel free to stay with one of us, we're all getting individual rooms." He walks over to the innkeeper and explains the situation, the innkeeper nods and walks up to Katie, "So who'll you be staying with tonight?"

I concur with lurker's assessment. We only have limited resources - we need to strategerize! Make friends with the suspicious group members later, but right now, get on the meatshi... err -leader's- good side.

Katie smiles at Robert, "I guess I'll stay with him, he seems to be the nicest one of the bunch." Annie gives her a look of mock anger as the innkeeper gives her the key,
"Whaddya mean he's the nicest one? You obviously haven't seen him on the bad day!" she laughs, then shrugs, "Robert, you better not do anything you'll regret with her!" with that, she walks off,
Robert smiles warmly at her, then pauses, "Wait... I don't even know your name yet." he scratches his head, "I do hope you plan on telling me, or else I'm going to have to keep referring to you as 'that-woman-adventure-who's-always-with-us'".
Katie shrugs, "If you really want to call me that, but my real name is Katie." she extends a hand for him to shake.
Robert takes the hand, but instead of shaking it, gives it a kiss, "Well, nice to meet you, Katie."
He leads her to the bedroom, "Do you want to shower first? Or should I?" he sets down his backpack, taking out a few extra sets of clothing and some very expensive looking equipment,
Katie sets down her backpack then thinks for abit, "I'll go first." She takes out an extra set of clothing and walks into the bathroom, wondering what she should do for the night after her shower...
