Listen up folks, Tekkit released a minor client update to fix a few problems with wireless redstone, so be sure to download it.

Looks like the 1.2 update is either out now or coming out today. Amongst other things it comes with Iron Golems, and hostile mobs have rare drops.

Ladder Collision is back too, and new mob behaviors. Also, ocelots!

remember being able to catch ladders on the wall if ya played adventure maps? Or being able to stand on ladders before? Basicly they took it away, some adventure map creators complained, and now it's getting back.

Oh that. So we can have a space between each ladder now and still be able to climb up them?

I do believe that is part of it, that and it'll make ladder/trapdoor combos easier to climb (considering I use such builds with my underground bases, it makes me happy)

Sweet, now my shaft light set up won't look so shit with ladders all over it. Also, Burr's fixed the hostile mob spawn, they now spawn in dark area's and at night. Balkans hasn't been fixed yet though.

Just a note: Tekkit isn't made for 1.2, so don't update to 1.2 if you want to play on the server. Updates as I get them.

Tekkit 2.1 is out, so go read the tekkit page for info on how to update your launcher and such.

ALRIGHT FOLKS! Server's gonna be down for a few days whilst I do a few things to my PC. With that, I vanish.

Okay, so after a pretty long hiatus, the server machine has been fixed (busted motherboard, but it was covered by warranty so was free to fix. Yay!). But, I'm just about to start moving to a new apartment, so it still won't be up until the move is complete, so a couple of weeks probably.

Now, I know Occam put Tekkit on his server, and I've played around with it myself, and it's pretty neat, so my question would be this: Do people still want Tekkit on the server? I have no problem doing so. And if so, what mods do people absolutely want and not want?

Edit: I'll keep an unofficial tally of votes here for Tekkit. Mainly for my own determination.

I would rather go without it personally. It is neat but I don't like combing through dozens of pages looking for all the fucking mods it needs this particular week to run.

Eh, not a fan of Tekkit. Personally, I thought it complicated things too much.

The only Tekkit mods I'd really like on the server would be Redpower Wiring/Logic/Lighting, Wireless Redstone and possibly Railcraft. I don't really mind about the rest. Would be kinda cool to have Tekkit, but as mentioned it can overcomplicate things and completely change the way the game is played.

Hmm, Tekkit has some obvious advantages for my project, since it has some very abusable mods (*coughequivalentexchangecough*) that would help greatly in mining out large areas. Then there's the those cut-up thin blocks from microblocks, which I absolutely need for my designs.

I'll vote yes.

Meh. Personally, I'm wanting to wait until mod compatability appears in MC before we TOO heavily mod the server. Tekkit is good, yes, but I like certain parts of it- not the whole wizbang of a package.
